This looks like such a good idea!
Definatley. I'm ready to call it a day. Thanks for the chuckles everyone
See you tomorrow!
See you tomorrow!
You've got a good memory MG. I can never remember, is it an "elephant never forgets" or "a woman never forgets". If I come, I wouldn't want to deprive you of the pleasure and satisfaction you would get from serving me. What greater gift is there than doing for others? I gave up golf. Couldn't afford the balls, kept hitting them into the river.
Hey!! I'm on a diet!!
I thought you were going to bed!
The forum is dead tonight. I might as well go to bed too. Good night all.
Good Morning All..Still waiting for Road Runner Installation - sometime this morning
if they can get it installed. I have been
working all night deleting seldom used files
and folders - the system is getting sluggish. Have a Great Day

Mory, yes, you will love cable! It is so much faster and you can leave your computer on a much as you want. One thing I would do,make sure you have a good virus protection and firewall in place.
Mory, Are you up and running yet?
Your connection will be fast

WOW, I'm on Road Runner - actually have two
systems going.. I realized today this is not a one day changeover. I will practice
on the Laptop but have a LONG way to go..
I spent all day (I'm nearly blind) on the small screen. Installing programs and windows Updates & Firefox. Also set it up to download my mail and learned how to set-up 8 windows...the time zone is still wrong - will get it tomorrow. Got my spellchecker today - no good for me I have to find one with bigger letters..Back to the learning curve. BUT IT Sure Is Fast. The tech they sent me was a genius but I Only understood two words - Hello and Goodbye. Anyway he had it online in five minutes. and then told me
20 things I should do FIRST. I'm writing like crazy he is typing 100WPM. On the phone with two other customers while doing mine. So he did about six things for me and left the Upgrade of XL Pro until last that download took over an hour after he left. I'm beat for today.
Thanks for all your best wishes.. mory
PS: It was a spam POP=up that corrupted
the Laptop - after he deleted it he installed a program that blocks popups 99%
He also moved me to a virgin server which has no spam as yet, He said if I get more than 2 a day call him for an adjustment - whatever that means. I ask if he could come on a weekend he said emphatically NO but I could call him
and he can take over the laptop and make any necessary changes. gave me his private 800 number to call him free.

Dropped off an Easter treat of some Maple candy to a friend yesterday. The Harvest was only 31 days for 657,000 thousand gallons so only have enough syrup to
keep 3 employees working.. seven are out of work. If they tapped any more they
would have killed the trees. The 4 days of WARM ended the season. Bought four little Maple Leaves for $2. Stores have the candy at the register - one to a customer - no markup - just put the money in a box for the maple shed workers.
Anyway my friend, fellow crafter is a wood carver and I missed his birthday so brought the Maple Candy - He works every day and is 109..He has a new girlfriend
92...didn't get to meet her yet.
Anyway he attributes his health to YOGURT.
He has outlived his wife and children.I brought him a quart of Strawberry Yogurt from Walmart where I buy mine.

DREAMS
The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged
us to get to know someone we didn't already know. I stood up to look
around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder. I turned around to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with
a smile that lit up her entire being. She said, "Hi handsome. My name
is Rose. I'm eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?" I laughed
and enthusiastically responded, "Of course you may!" and she gave me a
giant squeeze. "Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?"
I asked. She jokingly replied, "I'm here to meet a rich husband, get
married, have a couple of kids.." ! "No seriously," I asked. I was
curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at
her age. "I always dreamed of having a college education and now I'm
getting one!" she told me.
After class we walked to the student union building and shared a
chocolate milkshake. We became instant friends. Every day for the next
three months we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was
always mesmerized listening to this "time machine" as she shared her
wisdom and experience with me. Over the course of the year, Rose
became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up.
At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football
banquet. I'll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and
stepped up to the podium! . As she began to deliver her prepared speech,
she dropped he r three by five cards on the floor. Frustrated and a
little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, "I'm
sorry I'm so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is
killing me! I'll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know."
As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, "We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing. There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day. You've got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die. We have so many people walking around who are dead and don't even know it! There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up. If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don't do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn ! eighty-eight. Anybody can grow older. That doesn't take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding the opportunity in change. Have no regrets. The elderly usually don't have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets."
She concluded her speech by courageously singing "The Rose." She
challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily
lives. At the year's end Rose finished the college degree she had begun
all those years ago. One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in
her sleep. Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in
tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it's never too late to be all you can possibly be.
When you finish reading this, please send this peaceful word of advice
to your friends and family, they'll really enjoy it! These words! have
been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.
REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY. GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL.
We make a Living by what we get, We make a Life by what we give. God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage. If God brings you to it--He will bring you through it. Lord I love You and I need You, come
into my heart, Today. For without You I can do nothing.

Glad you enjoyed reading it. I hesitated because it was lengthy.
How very true. Thank you for sharing it Mrs. M.
Thanks Jake: I have one magnet left so am putting that on the refrigerator. I have taken a dozen rainbow shots but they
never record for me.
I struggled all day with the Laptop - It's very hard using my finger as a mouse - I really don't like it at all - but have to get used to it. Next is to hook up the wireless feature.. I have enough to handle for this month.
Happy Easter Everyone..

quote:They never turn out for me either. That's why I get them off the internet. I stood in the drizzling rain taking time laspe photos overlooking Albuquerque NM at night some years back. Turns out I didn't have any film in my camera. (Keep it under your hat, ok)

Mory, I HATE using the finger control for my laptop. I got a wireless mouse and that's great. you can do it from across the room. Of course I can't read it from that far away tho!
I don't mind the finger control at all. I am pretty used to it.
Mory, I have wireless and it is great with the cable, however I just disconnected the cable today and have gone stricly to a cell phone hookup to my computer! That is really wireless! It is about as fast as cable if you don't use your own ISp! I can take my laptop almost anywhere in the US and use it .

Jake the no film is pretty funny! I did that at my oldest two children's graduation fron HS!
I like to remember it as funny vs stupid. Actually, it was a "senior moment". I've been having them since I was 20. I hope someone got some pictures of your kids for you.
I'm sure someone did, but not anyone I know! LOL! Oh well, they grew up and went to college..did get some pictures there! A long, long time ago, Jake! Their children have since been to college!
I had a wonderful Easter with Friends
and their 16 combined children. The food
was wonderful by the 5 wives and two
Grandmothers. I usually bring pies or dinner rolls but brought nothing but my camera and took pictures of the kids.
The Host, my friend John, was not even there.
He was laying a new kitchen tile floor for a neighbor a $1,600 job he was doing for
$800. Everyone missed him but with three
young boys and another on the way there was an understanding. She said she would eat when John came home. Her grandmother made her a tray and said here, feed the baby inside.
Eat again when he comes home. I thought the wisdom was wonderful. John is a floor tile layer by trade, when he can't find work and on Fri Sat nights he makes Pizza. I taught him Pizza making to get him his first Pizza Job in High School.
I also taught his twin brother - but he won't do it. It was not until the afternoon was over that I realized why the
Wheeler Clan had decended on John's House in his absence. Mrs M" I thought of you today, and your remark last week about a plumbers house - On the kitchen Cork message board there is a note from Grandma ( John, missed you today, but we were all with you.. By the way, there is a broken tile in front of the stove that needs your attention. Love - Happy Easter - Grandma.}

Lol, Mory and so it goes! Glad you had a nice dinner.
Hi Mory,
I just have to say, Jake, that is really beautiful! He will love it!
Thank you Mrs. M, but no one can hold a candle to your pics. I checked out making them but it didn't take long to figure out it was to complicated for me.
Oh, sure you can, Jake! You are posting some really kool things! I loved the dental pixs the other day! You must have done some real searching to find them.
