Hi all,

I have a seller that gave me an Unpaid Item Reminder. It was an adult item; it said no online payment cash, check or money order. I used Bidpay to try and send him (via us mail) a money order. He rejected it and said he doesn't take online payments. I had another item I was bidding with him and asked if he would take a check and could I wait until the second item was won or lost. I won. Today was the tenth day of the original item but 4 days after the second (I mailed a check on Monday.) My questions are

1) As sellers do you consider a Money order purchased online and sent via US Mail as an online payment?

2) Once you post one of these unpaid items do you give the user any time? (He is responding to my responses every hour so I feel to maintain my position I need to respond.)

3) I responded and he said I should know not to use Bidpay. He said If I mailed a check it would be there (I am west coast he is east coast) I am trying to be polite and get him paid on time, needless to say I will never bid on one of his auctions again. I have a 100% positive feedback and except for adult items I always use Paypal and pay right away.

Thanks

The seller is in the wrong. If says he accepts Money Orders and lists no exceptions to them, he HAS to accept BidPay Money Orders. The seller still recieves a paper money order very similar to the ones you can buy at the local Wal-Mart or K-mart. He can still choose to cash it where ever they cash other money orders. They are no less secure than any other money order. The fact that BidPay is an internet based company mean nothing. They send an eMail letting the recipient know there is a money order on the way, but do not require that the recipient registers with them. I don't see what this buyers problem is!

PS: I don't ever file NPB alerts unless the buyer was an a$$ to me. eBay makes it a pain in the arse Mad to request money back so I just don't do it... sellers like me are probably the reason they do make it a pain! $$$$$$
I think the guy is a jerk and I will complete the transaction and be done with him. If I thought he would take it as constructive criticism I would send it to him but I don’t get that impression. You can't use Paypal for adult items so a lot of the vendors require money orders /cashiers checks. Bid pay provides a little protection that way.

There is some kind of check box on his end that every time he replies to my answer I get a "must respond email" from eBay

Thanks

"must respond email" from eBay
It's the UIP (unpaid item process) you must respond to. If you don't, you'll recieve a 'strike' on your record. You don't want that... Three of them from different sellers and you're out (of eBay).

If you've decided to make payment, make sure your seller knows. Answer the UIP with 'I want to pay now'.

Check step 3 and 4 on this eBay help page.

Luck.
Hi,

The subject of the email is "eBay New Unpaid Item Message from seller name omitted: # item # omitted-- response required" So I go and respond with the information (check sent, check number amount etc.) Then he comes back with check should have been here and that is the same header response required so every time I respond and he answers I get an email from eBay that says response required. He finally said Ok and that one said response required but I didn't respond.

Too much work chasing to tell someone the checks in the mail, I don’t bounce checks, I mailed the check, the 18th is not the same as the 16th, etc.

Hi,

I responded online with the details and he marked it as resolved or closed.

I have a 50% feeling this guy is a crook; he didn't want the eBay number on the check.

He had a 96% positive feedback and I read some of the negatives and a few were from people who didn't pay, he had a lot of positive feedback.

I don't like to leave negative feedback as there isn't a succinct way to say buyer beware without ticking off the seller. We will wait see if the merchandise arrives okay and is fine

Point: Negative feedback is a much bigger hit on the seller than the buyer.
Counter Point: “What the world need now, is love sweet love.”

Is “We” a metaphor?
Hi Rick,

Well, we in that context is a metaphor for me, myself and I, so with all my personalities I am "We" the Wone Enlightened to go to the mailbox.

My feed back would need to be

Merchandise arrived ????(we will wait and see), make sure you read his terms he is rigid with them

That leaves me 4 charcaters to try and say his "terms" "no online payments" means he won't take bidpay

Dear Enlightened, or do you prefer Wone?

You probably already know this, but any one of your personalities can leave an additional 80 characters in a “follow-up” feedback. People usually wait until getting the other party’s response, but the last I checked “follow-up” could be given right after feedback (negative or positive). Those 4 characters you mentioned could be used at the end of your initial feedback to leave “ …”.

One other idea: if you can get the seller to cooperate, the seller could leave an additional 80 characters to describe his poor service/terms, but that can get kind of dicey. I’ve never tried it; so if anyone has any experience with this, I’d love to hear about it. I don’t think that’s breaking any of ebay’s rules.
