When you go to your account in PP. When you click on add funds. If there is an account number already showing, DO NOT click on add account.
Just type in the amount of money you want to add in that little box, and then submit that.

no account number is shown. but when i click "add account" it says there is already an existing account.

Maybe coz of this.....

its https://www.paypal.com right?

That is strange...mine is doing the same thing but I have done it before no probs. If I go to my profile I have 2 account numbers on file so thats not the issue. Must be to do with the maintenence

Maybe they are early, but it is only 9.42 PM PST.
Now. Did you set up a money market account with them . That has to be done first. Have you used your regular Pay Pal yet. Does it say confirmed account on your regular account page?

I have just been using my PP account and it was working. If you can't get it to work, I would go to the help tab. Then at the bottom of the list is a way to send them a note. You might ask them how and why etc. I sure am not an expert. All I know, at one time I had their phone number in order to strighten out a problem, which they did right then and there. Very nice to deal with at the time.
Anyhow it is now the wee small hours of the AM here where I am. So good luck and good night.

Hope you get Paypal sorted out. Bummer about Paypal being down. Never fails. It's like internet knows something and sends some message to some service that saids, "Here's one. Let's have some fun. Bring your site down, or at least deny this person access."

I think it's a Murphy Law thing.

Beezo, seems like you're getting a bad first impression of PayPal trying to set up your account. It's really a pretty convenient service once you get up and running.

Don't forget PayPal has to verify the account before you will be able to transfer money anywhere. With the weekend, could be Monday or Tuesday.

If they didn't do that, You could enter the numbers off any old check and drain someone elses account!

It should work, but will take some time.

thanx everyone for your help, i contacted paypal and this is what they had to say:

"There is currently no provision in our system for using an Australian
bank account to either add funds to a PayPal account or to fund a
payment. These options are currently only available for accounts in
North America and some Continental European countries."

So I have had to pay with my brothers paypal account.

What a thing to have to do. I would advise PayPal, that since there is an eBay Australia, it would be to their best interest to have PayPal there too.
I would sure make it an issue on your eBay Aussie and tell eBay Aussie as well. Who knows, you just might start something that way.

yeah, i should have also said... it does work with credit cards, but since i don't have one, it leaves me high and dry... luckily, my brother has cc and paypal.
