Beezo, it always said shipped from Hong kong. I don't understand what you mean. I thought you didn't have a paypal account.
i don't. i have always paid direct deposit in the past. but if the only payment they accept is paypal, i will need a paypal account right? unless one of you fine people will sort it out for me
anyway, i was trying to sign up to paypal, and it asked how much i wanted to pay, i entered the amount but it didn't have AUD in the drop-down box.

I don't know beezo, but the information was there and you should have checked it out before you bid. Sorry, I stand firm on that. Auctions cost sellers money. That is not fair. You also knocked out another bidder. That's not fair. I hope from now on you will do all your homework first. As far as what paypal takes, I don't know what countries it accepts, but again that was something to know before the fact, not after. Not trying to be hard on you, but that is the way I see it. The person has sold to people in your country BTW.
Thought I would hijack this topic back to a couple of Beezo's concerns.....(bear with me I cant be buggered going back and using the thingie.
Paypal.....dont fret too much about paying via paypal...its free and if you stay *unconfirmed* you have a little advantage if the seller doesnt come good. When paying via Paypal its all US$ no matter what....but it works out the same amount of money. When I pay via Paypal I use >>XE Currency Converter<< to convert but Paypal has its own, you just need to check which has the better conversion rate. I find if I am being paid Paypal's coversion rate is a bit suckie.

Thanks Lexie! Glad you popped in!
yes well, i am happy to compensate the seller for their costs, the whole $2 or so.
i will wait for the seller to respond to my email, and if they are still stuck on wanting paypal, i will get an account. but i don't see the hassle with direct deposit, it is just as good, and possibly faster than paypal.

No as quick as paypal and really not that easy when you are transferring Overseas. Also NOT AS CHEAP! your bank will sting you with a charge and they will get tagged as well
Paypal really is very handy.

okay, so about the currency.
i gotta pay $109 AUD, which works out as $80.06 USD, is that right?
I don't want the seller getting all upset like Mrs. M.

Thats not a good assumption.
I use internet banking which costs me $1/month, and I can make transfers anywhere in the world for free.
Beezo, you forget he didn't sell his product. Well, no matter, you bought it you owe him . It is not your decision how to pay. It is his auction.

Huh? Who did then? ... the tooth-fairy?
Beezo, believe me, I am not upset. You came in here and asked advise and I tell it like I see it. Nothing for me to be upset about. That is silly!
Good grief, beezo, if you don't pay, it is not sold.
Sorry if 1 part of my comments were wrong - I have made enquiries and my 3 banks have informed me that I will be charged to transfer OS. Paypal is free so I use them. The rest of my comments you will find to be true and correct. To add to those comments you can pay using US$, Canadian$, Euros, Pounds or Yens...for future reference.
Uhuh....that would be the amount that I would send

That is a good thing to do. I taught my kids all to swim as babies. My Lexie has been swimming since before she was 1.
Congratulations on you win. If the item was offered for AUD I would just go ahead and use the PayPal. I for one would have no problems with the PAYPAL. Just make sure you get your item within 21 days of the close of the auction.
That way, you can file all the diffrent refund, fruad, etc.

Okay, well thanx everyone for your advice. I will be going through with my end of the auction. Except I still don't have a credit card.
You can deposit funds from your bank account to your Paypal account...if that helps you at all
Lexie

You can always transfer funds from your bank to PayPal and then use that. Do you have a ATM card with a visa logo or like? If so you can submit that as your cc backup on PayPal. Works about as good.

nope. don't have one like that. i would like to transfer from my bank to my paypal, but i can't sign up without a credit card.
might have to get my brother to sign up. then pay from his account. hopefully the seller will still accept this.

That is strange. I know you have to have a bank account. But that a cc is not necessary. I would try to sign up with only your bank account. That is how I started. Just the bank account. Then they send you some funds to your local bank account. A couple of very tiny deposits. You then tell them how much they deposited and then your off and runing. They take their couple of bucks back then.

Are you sure beezo. I know I didn't have to have a credit card to sign up for paypal.
okay, got it figured now. i don't need a credit card. i am using my bank. except its got a 3-day turn-around. oh well. seller will just have to wait.
Hello Mrs. M.
Look like we had the same thought at the same time.
I would sure try using just the bank account.
Maybe it is an Aussie thing. Maybe Lexie would know.

That should not be a problem to him. Send him a note saying what you are doing.
so its free right, to get money out of paypal, and transfer it in?
No, Lexie told me the same thing, Shop.
Yes, beezo, it is.
And safer than sending money in the mail, for sure.
Well that's me. Always a day late in the conversation. That is why if I had a few extra half pennys to rub together, I would transfer funds to the paypal and then just keep adding to them. You can set it up to where they pay interest on extra funds that are with them.

Yes, Shop, our minds must have clicked together!
No, shop, I wasn't talking to her in the thread! You weren't a day late!
i am confused now, once again.
i have added the bank account to paypal, but when i try to transfer funds it keeps asking me to add an account. then when i do, it says the account is already there.
does anyone know how to transfer funds to paypal?
