I jumped on to AS just now, to see how my bid group was going (I bid on 30 items trying to win a present for my brother for Xmas) to find that all the bids had been cancelled.

Now you can believe the shock I got when I saw this!

So I updated the snipes and went through them all to see what had gone wrong...

Then there it was

My heart went back to beating along its normal pattern... I had won an auction, and the other 25 or so were cancelled (5 were bids too low).

Now I am a happy chappy... I think the sig says it all; don't you?

hey, the seller of this item is actually located in Hong Kong. I do not feel comfortable sending my funds out of the country.

The location of the auction says "australia" at the top of the page though.

Its paying through PayPal, so I feel a little safer. Except I don't have a PayPal account, and PayPal reckons the currency is USD, even though Ebay says its AUD.

Yes, beezo, I think I would. At least you will know where you stand. As far as this forum is concerned, the only thing AS has to do with the setup, I think I understand from SARA, is Sara can cut bad language, etc. Anyway, bottom line is, general IS the place for that!

Puppy, it is my husband..he has alzheimer's! Was just kidding! Wink

Now, I got to go to bed 5:30 comes early for an old lady! Big Grin

Beezo - imho, if you're paying with paypal then you are somewhat protected by:-

1. eBay
2. PayPal
3. Your credit card

Therefore, check the guy's history. If he has all good comments then it's probably OK, if he's a zero (or therabouts) then start to get worried. What's the item number?

R2
ps. Howsabout this - eBay recently removed some offensive feedback (I'd dared to ask why the item I'd received was a different make from the one pictured!) from my Feedback - no hassle! What's going on... Smile

Rick and Puppy, in answer to your thread above, I use village for a couple of reasons. One, the animations take up a load of disk space and I store somewhere close to 700 of them. The second reason is that I can access them very easily. Anytime an animation or graphic is placed in a thread and is not acceptable, it simply vanishes. You would not get TOS if it was not something you have a pattern of doing. On the other hand, if you barreled in here with profanity and porn, I am sure you would be short-lived! Smile

Beezo, you should have done your homework about this seller BEFORE you bid. It really isn't fair to the seller or other bidders to do this after the fact. He states his conditions clearly. One is that he takes paypal for payment. He states he is in Hong kong and ships from there. He is only offering the item in your exchange. I think you need to work out payment or risk a NPB.
