I entered two snipes for ebay articles today and in one case I entered a higher figure than the winning bid, but I didn't win because the snipes weren't activated!!!!!!!

I'm a little cheesed off, because first of all I purchased the paid for version of the software over the free version and secondly, I'm yet to find out if I have to pay when I sell anything (I was under the impression that by purchasing the paid for software no further payments were required when selling).

The snipes were on my iphone, but on completion of the auction there was no information in the Won or lost folders!!!!!

Ps.
Both snipes have now appeared in the lost folder of my snipes. One clearly shows the winning amount was some £5.00 lower than my highest figure.

Can some one tell me what is going on please.

I received the following email.....

Hi MichaelDeHavilland,

I'm sorry to hear that your snipe on this item could not be placed. I clicked the “View Confirmation” button next to this snipe (look for the eye icon) to see what we encountered when we attempted to place this bid on your behalf and it appears our system could not get past the sign in process - even though you have the correct username and password on file with your account.

We have seen a few other reports of this nature recently and our technical team is currently investigating what may be causing this behavior in some cases, so I have made them aware of this example to aid the investigation.

If you would like to be notified as new information about this issue becomes available, please contact our Customer Support team by mousing over the “Help” tab and selecting the “Contact Support” option and we will be happy to keep you posted.

Thank you for your reply.

I am still somewhat puzzled by certain aspects of the software.

You state that by clicking on the eye you were able to ascertain that the cause for the failure was due to:
it appears our system could not get past the sign in process - even though you have the correct username and password on file with your account.

When I clicked on the same eye I was simply directed to the eBay page showing the auction had ended! Why the discrepancy?

Yet another snip failed to win me the auction, this time I was bidding on a large supply of light bulbs and despite there being no bids from competitors I failed to win! I have pressed the eye for verification, but yet again there is no explanation other than going to eBay, requesting I log in and after login, transferring me to the auction page showing the auction has ended.

So far the software is not performing as I had hoped for and if matters do not improve I will be requesting a refund as the software is 'not fit for purpose'
Same thing just happened to me with the "view confirmation" button just linking to the e-bay page with the bids. Doesn't help one bit.

Not only that but if you look through the error message list, everything is covered, snipe placed too late, bid too low, bid below increment, ended early, invalid user id/pass, blocked by seller.....everything I can even dream might be wrong is covered by an actually helpful error message. Instead I get "did not win." That and a dollar won't buy me a cup of coffee. Color me very dissatisfied with what I consider shabby treatment.

"Did not win." That's an insult, not an error message. Error messages are for identifying and remediating problems. This is a joke.
