Hello,

Need some advises...
I set maximum auto bid to $7.70 (start at $5.50)..
Then I change max bid to $10.20
I don't understand why auto bid jump my bid to $7.00 from $5.50 (without any one outbid me)..
And also jump from $7.70 to $10.20, looks like it outbid my self (but it doesn't looks like incremental auto bid)

j***8 at 9:53:32 PDT (after your $10.20 auto/proxy bid) bid “at least” (could be more) $10.70. Since the increment at that price is $.50, that caused you to use up your full auto/proxy bid and put the price at $10.70 (your $10.20 bid + $.50 increment).

Not that you asked (when did that ever stop someone?), but I’d click on “Hide Automatic Bids”. For me, it’s always been easier to understand.

Actualy tried to sniped with $6.20 (lead 4s)..
But "Member Id: me ( 0 ) US $7.00 Jul-10-10 20:05:33 PDT" show automaticaly until last dying seconds..

Any advice how to win auctions using AS ? (may be with combination with auto bid)..
For example, What will you do if $5.50 is highest bid until last 2 minutes.
How many lead time suggested ? I'am using 4sec, but never win because beaten by someone auto bid..

I never win auction, always beaten in last sec..

Add a few cents/pence to your snipe (eg. 12.03 rather than 12.00) and read up on Ebay's Proxy Bidding to find out why this is a good ploy.
Could NOT find out why that is a good ploy in eBay's help on “Proxy Bidding”.

BUT, instead of looking for the ploy there, try here:
http://www.auctionsniper.com/TipsSheet.aspx
DON'T USE ROUND NUMBERS.
By tossing in odd dollars or cents, you can throw off the bid increment and you might win an item you would otherwise have lost. Why is this important to you when you're sniping? Isn't a snipe the last bid? Because there might be another sniper on the item, or you might hit a manual sniper who just gets very lucky on getting his bid in after you. Or you might even exceed another savvy bidder trying this tactic by a few dollars or cents.

By all means – “let’s”. While we’re in the reminding mood, let’s remind everyone that rojimm posted a $ sign, NOT a £ sign.

“Guess”? Not only going to enjoy it the first time, AND the second time, but NOW a third time:

Best if you post a link to the bid history, to get an accurate response.
Not sure how to better highlight the “accurate”.

That’s a pretty definitive statement you made there, region2, yet you preceded it with the somewhat speculative “guess”. You might be right, region2, but again (don’t know how many times I’ll have to say this before region2 gets it), to be certain (aka accurate), best to look at the auction.

NOW, I did find this in the eBay’s help text for the country that uses $ sign:
Reserve price fees
Reserve price         Fee
$0.01 - $199.99     $2.00
$200.00 and up     1.0% of reserve price (up to $50.00)

Since ebay lists a fee based on a reserve price of anything below $200 (notice the $ sign), it would appear that a reserve can be less than $50.

I can’t find any help text on eBay £-sign that supports your statement, region2. I have found that eBay £-sign, like eBay $-sign, has a fee schedule for reserves of any price, even down to the pence. I have also found various eBay £-sign auctions that state “low reserve” in the listing, and the current price is WELL below your £50 limit, yet no longer have the “reserve not met” ditty. You sure you didn’t just dream this?

Find any creditable (let's remind region2 that his Binford 3000 Crystal Ball doesn’t qualify) source to support that statement, region2? I guess not!
