Research the items and work out what's the most you'll pay. Forget about lead time - it's not the last bid that wins, it's the highest!

Add a few cents/pence to your snipe (eg. 12.03 rather than 12.00) and read up on Ebay's Proxy Bidding to find out why this is a good ploy.
