But, don’t leave home without us’ credit cards.

Of course, the “us” doesn’t mean Aussies and Brits, nor Canadians, nor Native Indians, nor slaves, nor ...

But, I’m always happy to get a paid holiday.
I am happy you are not a slave. We don't have slaves in the US and have not had for many, many years. Some countries certainly enslave their people.....Indian, well, that is not so bad today. I happen to know and am a friend of some well educated Native Americans. I would never put their people down. Many people spend a lot of time proving their Indian heritage. As for the paid holiday...hmmm , guess you have to have a job first, right?

You must not have had children.

Well, I guess “not so bad today” is something to be proud of. Yep, “My country’s not so bad today. I’ve seen worse.”

I had a feeling you’d say something. Unlike some, I try to avoid being capricious with my choice of words, and statements (there’s the second hint – should I leave bread crumbs?). What do you think, I’m just living on Mumsie’s billions (more hints?)? [throw in a big grin and a winky]
I have no idea how you live or care! Why should I?
Yes, I have four children and have raised a couple of grands and am raising a great. I do not enslave them!! Nor, do they enslave me!! We have a very loving, caring, sharing relationship!

Don't think I can worry about the past of our country, rick. Our future is much more important. I was not there and cannot change anything. I do know that today we all can succeed if we try without handouts.Very few succeed this way; most succeed by their own endeavor. We can all make changes if we give some effort to it and not sit around quoting and misquoting. It takes work.

And no, I am not throwing you or anyone bread crumbs. I was speaking of myself. I am retired!! Roll Eyes
Learning about agape love is good.

No one said this country was perfect, but it is still the land of choice for the millions of newcomers who continue to risk their lives to reach here each year, and many other nations who continue to emulate so many aspects of our society.

Ignore the naysayers, Mrs. M. They are so misguided, they cannot even tolerate a simple Memorial Day greeting from you, without turning it into something it was never intended to be, instead of simply saying thank you. That is their mania.
Chatter, I replied to Mrs. M's post about Native Americans. I've lived and taught on one of the reservations. I deleted my post because you'd apparently misread or misconstrued something in it as being against wishing someone a happy Memorial Day or as being a naysayer. Nobody who's read my previous posts in this form would accuse me of that. If you choose to see yourself as the defender of right and are looking for someone to prove yourself against, look a little harder. I'm not the one.

I don't think he was referring to you. I read your post, and I think Chatter had someone else in mind.
Some people simply need to experience living in some other countries like I have. I would gladly give my life to keep our country free and I have given it in some capacity. A lot goes on to keep it that way that many are not aware of. We just sit back like fat cats and suck it in! No comment asked for or needed.
