How Annoying -

*is it that I didnt pick up I was sniping in US$ and not AUD ...LOL - just as well the Aussie Dollar is performing well ATM.

*is it that bloody sellers dont put the postage/shipping amount in their auctions ANYWHERE so you have to play email tag to finalise the friggen auction

*is it that all the auctions I am waiting for are 7-10 day auctions.

off the beaten track....
*is it that I have to clean my house from top to bottom everyday and it still looks like a bomb hit it!!

I find that very annoying and don't even bother with those auctions. A similar thing is when they put something on the idea of "buyer to pay actual shipping plus a small handling fee." Huh? Small to one might be HUGE to another. Again, I skip those auctions and move on to the next one. I don't waste my time emailing the seller and waiting for a reply, since half the time they drag their heels about replyng. Roll Eyes
My annoyance is a seller that compares their item with another, and the comparison is totally invalid and misleading. Like this auction title.

2000 SILVER PROOF SET (COMPARE 1999 $220+)!

A stretch of the truth... and even without the exaggeration would still be misleading. Item should sell for around $30.

I would suggest that non-communicative buyers are as annoying as non-communicative sellers! In fact, I have one of those myself right now.

At the risk of angering Lexie for thread hijacking Razz, what & when does one do when there is no response from buyer after auction ends? My auction ended 12-21-03, I've sent 3 - 4 e-mails, and as of 1-3-04 have not heard back from buyer. I thought the guy may be "on holiday", so I figured I'd hold off until mid-next week before I start getting mean! I really hate the idea of getting into a feedback war over a $3.25 item! Roll Eyes Oh well!

Another one - when the auctions says they take PayPal, then you can't send them money via PayPal.

OMG I've had this happen to me too! The auction said they accept Paypal. After the auction ended I received an automated email from the seller saying they accept Paypal for payments over $5.00 only (I'm a small time bidder so mine was less). It went on to say that if you wanted to pay with Paypal you had to add x-amount to your payment to cover her fees. Mad I added the amount (it wasn't much) but I also sent a separate email saying I wasn't too pleased with being surprised with the additional fee because it was not stated in her auction. When I got my package she refunded the extra fee in cash! (It was something like 50¢) LOL!! I felt like a total tightwad for complaining but it was the point that she threw that extra charge in AFTER the auction ended that made me mad. And she continued posting other auctions without mentioning the extra fee.

I've been reading the forum for ages, but never dared to venture in before. Mrs M says it is TOS to charge for Paypal in the US. Please - what is TOS????

I understand it to mean "Terms Of Service", but I'm uncertain as to Mrs. M's usage.

Welcome to The forum.

I think so. It has to do with the 'Law of the Land'

US federal law prohibits charging extra for accepting a credit card.

UK considers it a normal business expense that can be passed on to customers.

On eBay, to add a surcharge for credit cards, both the buyer AND seller must be in the UK.

if a seller in the States states this, I'll honor it
Me too, as long as the charge is reasonable. I also expect it to be stated somewhere in the auction so I don't get surprised with an extra fee after the auction closes. But then again, if it's against ebay's rules, they're not supposed to put it in their auction. Roll Eyes so the best thing is for them to start the bidding with an amount that includes their fees. That's what I do. Smile

Few days back, I posted a note in this topic moaning about non-communitive buyers.

Update is, I was paid & contacted yesterday but the "guilty" party. Big Grin Apparently the buyer had computer problems in the last couple weeks.

Happy I had a little patience! Smile
