to the forum Cyn. Personally, I would not use a 1-2 second lead time. That's not to say it wouldn't work. If memory serves, I remember Sara not recommending 1 second snipes. Even if A/S gets the bid to ebay on time they may not have enough time to process it. My neighbor has always used 5 seconds. I use 7 seconds mostly, somtimes 8. Sunday's are a busy day and it's recommended to increase your lead time between 5-8:30 and for auctions ending on the hour, half or quarter hour. I have increased my time by 10 seconds during busy times, but usually I let A/S automatically adjust the time.
If internet traffic is heavy and A/S feels, your snipe may not be registered at eBay before the end of the auction, AS will atomically add additional time to your original lead-time to (hopefully) insure your snipe is placed. Better to have your bid in early than not at all. I do not know the technicalities as to how it is done, only that it is.
