You have 25+ lost snipes in that folder. We have to check each before bidding to make sure you havent won one.
Delete that bid group, start a new one, and put your active ones from that bid group into the new one.
quote:Bid Amount Date of bid
US $12.15 Jan-14-06 17:38:36 PST
US $12.00 Jan-14-06 17:15:41 PST
US $11.05 Jan-14-06 12:08:09 PST
US $9.00 Jan-14-06 05:29:42 PST
You must remember that the current winning bid of any auction is determined by not only the winning bidder's maximum bid, but more importantly the highest LOSING bidder's maximum bid. In this example, Mr.$12bidder's winning bid at the time your snipe bid hit was $11.55 -- 1 bid increment ($0.50) above the highest losing bidder's maximum bid ($11.05) at that point. The lowest valid bid when your snipe hit would've been $12.05 (1 bid increment above the $11.55). Since your snipe bid was for $12.15, not only was it a valid bid by $0.10, you also won the auction by LESS than a bid increment, which is always especially satisfying since you can imagine the other guy is pulling his hair out trying to figure out how you did that! This is a perfect illustration why it is often recommended on this board to place an "odd" maximum bid i.e. $12.15 instead of $12.00! Congrats on the win!quote:Now, how is it that the 12.00 bid placed 23 minutes before did not require 12.50 from me?

By jove! I think he's got it!quote:So if I understand correctly, his actual bid had been 11.55 with a 12.00 'proxy max'.
