Now that I have voted I will put my 2 cents here as well.
I have tried alllll the ways mentioned above for leaving feedback.
At the moment I have an email that I send out when I am posting the win off that says, if I dont hear from the buyer in a couple of weeks I will assume all is well and leave feedback.
I was leaving feedback twice a week using the bulk system (which was basically feedback on receipt of payment), but then I got hit with a couple of Neutrals, which would of been sorted out if the buyer had just contacted me prior to leaving feedback.

Usually on receipt of payment, but I admit not ALWAYS. I do enough to take the first choice though.
If I get that funny feeling from their feedback or emails, I will hold off till I'm sure they are happy.
Most items I sell go out priority mail with tracking numbers, so I can prove they were delivered. They are also near indestructible so they don't get broken. I take great pains to point out any flaws, so there shouldn't be a problem there either.

I always leave feedback as each buyer pays. If I were to get other than positive from him, so be it. Not the end of the world. At least I know I did what I feel is correct. Puppy I send everything that I generaly sell by priority also. I do it online so I get free confirmation.

I have always left feedback when the buyer pays, that's they've done their part, all that should be required of the buyer is to pay (not whether he or she likes the items, etc.) however, as a buyer myself I've noticed lately that a lot of sellers are waiting until the buyer leaves feedback (positive or negative) so they can do the same...They claim that the auction isn't over until the buyer is satisified and leaves positive feedback.
I think this is taking advantage of the feedback policy, check out the discussion boards on ebay and it's all over the place. Valid reasons for all options. Maybe ebay needs to come up with a system, that the moment a buyer pays a preliminary feedback is automatically listed via paypal that states the auction was paid for??!!?!??
I don't know the answer to this question, but I'm glad everyone's voting, it's nice to see that there are some good souls out there.

Lv, yes, I have had that happen and when they say they will leave feedback after I have received my item, I ask them right out if they are doing that to assure good feedback exchange. P sss me off!

quote:Yep, me too. Except when package is to small.
free confirmation.
Also some of the sellers have started listing 1.00 shipping, so have switched to small padded envelopes and first class mail for the less expensive things.

Funny thing..I used to have mandatory ins. Things were "lost" in the mail all the time. Since I dropped ins. and went to confirmation, never had a problem!

Yes, I do mandatory confirmation as well, seems the post office isn't that terrible about losing items as we once thought...
at USPS.com you get free confirmation if you print out your shipping label there....

Yes, and, it is so much nicer than standing in line at the postoffice! Another thing, you have the option of not having your postage amount printed on the label!

I always print the labels on line, but still do the stand in line thing...
I'm not that big, and only switch into seller mode about once a year. Usually only lasts a few weeks, but this year will stretch out more. I've got 9 of one item to get rid of. May save half of them till late November.

Why do you stand in line, Puppy?

I would point to the thread on eBay, but seems to be gone. Found the post on AS that should point to it, but it doesn’t go anywhere.

[From memory]
Seems someone left negative feedback to a seller because the packing material (newspaper) had an advertisement they didn't like. They took offense and wanted a full refund with shipping both ways. It was an ad for viagra. To me, that's a buyer that needs negative feedback, even if they paid on time.

Lol. I remember that one, Puppy!

Why do you stand in line

Lines are not to bad depending on when you go... Lucky to have a post office within a mile of where I live. Cool thing is it's a 24/7 post office. Usually drop in about 10-10:30PM. Not much of a line then!

I am a little confused, puppy..hmmm, that's normal for me! Do you print your postage online?

I print the label on line, but without the postage.

OIC! Hmm. well, it sure is nice to do the whole postage. Then, you can walk past everyone, smile, lay your package on the counter and walk past them and smile.....

I may give that a try...
What's one more password in the whole scheme of things.

Right, lol! Besides, don't forget that free confirmation!
