Weird happening

Maybe the 202 is YEN instead of US$! Sorry! Haven't a clue what the problem may be -- only can make hamhanded attempts at humor!

This has happened to me a couple of times in the last week. Right now I've got a $49 item with zero bids on it, but AS thinks it has 21 bids and is prepared to bid $139 on my behalf. Ahh-- AS bugs-- ya gotta love 'em!

This is a new bug that I haven't seen before-- and it's the first time I've seen an AS bug that could cost me money. For example, I shudder to think of the situation where a couple of different AS users are bidding on a $10 item, but the software bug has determined that it's going to bid $100 or $1000 for both of them! Maybe you could get out of the sale somehow, but beware.

With the last one a few days ago, what worked for me was to delete the snipe, and then reload it from my watch list on ebay. I couldn't get it to load the correct price any other way, like by using 'Update Prices' or anything like that.

The answer I got from AS was to close the Browser, eg Netsape or which ever one your have and restart it. I tried that and it worked this time.
But I will be on the lookout for it again.
It gave me quite a start on this second item.

It would not really matter what AS says the current amount is, would it? eBay accepts the dollar amounts and the high bidder wins, n'est-ce pas?

This happened to me last week!

I received notification that my $5 bid was way too low and that I had to bid $200+. This on a cheap camera catalogue!

On investigation in "My Snipes" the item was correctly described, but the bid price said to be $200+

I went back into ebay thinking "the world has really gone mad" "I'm rich" "I can retire" "Just sell off my hundreds of camera catalogues"

Unfortunately, it was still standing at 99cts!
So I just cancelled the old snipe, re-sniped and won the item for $1.50.

Some odd sort of "glitch" if it happened elsewhere.

I had the same thing happen with another snipe, just like yours Camera.
Looks like they had better look for the little gremlin that is running around in the computer somewhare.

So there we have it! I'm pleased its not me wandering again! I can afford to lose this, so I won't amend anything and wait and see what happens.

There is an old saying, misery loves company.
I had thought that my old brain was more sunbaked than ever. I have been having that same problem. I wonder if the AS computer will place the snipe if it thinks there is not chance??
It sure is a funny gremlin.

Bid placed correctly and item won, so no problems then! (I didn't touch it in my Snipes even though it was saying I needed to bid more) as the item was correct.

So a "glitch" in their notification system. I reported it (as you should yours) and had a polite email back saying they had passed it on to Engineering.

Their answer to me was to just turn the browse off and restart it. But, that does not answer why their system sends a message that you have to raise the bid. OH Well.
Anyhow I hope you won your snipe.

This is getting weirder and weirder. I imported some snipes, and AS imported the wrong item, but kept my maximum bid!

It set my snipe bid as $373 on a cheap junk cardboard advertising sign, due to close in 28min. (The $373 was supposed to be the snipe on a camera lens.) I'm glad I caught this one. It also imported a "101 Dalmations" video that I didn't ask for.

Rebooting the browser didn't help. For me, I think it might be safest to just stay away from ebay for a month or two until AS gets this bug fixed. This is the nastiest bug I've seen so far on AS-- could be expensive.

When you imported the items, did you type in the numbers or did you use the "snipe it now" or did you import from something you had already bid on ebay itself?? Just wondering.

I'm cancelling my snipe list until this settles down.
