When signed in on the site now you'll notice two new tabs next to the My Snipes tab:

Wins tab:
http://www.auctionsniper.com/mywinsinfo.aspx
This new service helps you track your wins with the sellers email, when you made payment, when you received the item, and whether you've left and received feedback, etc.

Searches tab:
http://www.auctionsniper.com/mysearches.aspx
This feature lets you easily setup complex searches and save them. You may review the results on our site, or elect to have them emailed to you.

As these are new features please provide feedback, bugs you might encounter, etc.

Pricing is still up in the air. There may be a small fee such as 10 cents per item for win tracking. Searches done from our site would be free, emailed searches would be about 10 cents a day, a little more if you wish us to create a thumbnail of each auction in the search result. This would give you a thumbnail for every item in the search results. Something not available from eBays search.

They're all free for now though, so use all you want as much as you want. It'll probably be like this for at least a month or so.

Thank you

The new feature looks really nice.

Living in Germany I can, however, I can hardly make use of this, since obviously _only_ offers originating from The US are included.
Confused

Would there be a way to change the system and to allow for searches in other parts of the world too ?

TIA and regards
Rainald
The search feature is great, and it would be enough for me to switch snipe service if the price were right.

10 cents per day is kind of high, IMHO. (I sincerely hope that you don't mean 10c/day/email!)
If the price were more reasonable, I'd pay for it.

Also, feature request:
Copy paste an ebay search URL into AS and have the search added automagically. Otherwise we have to first tweak our search on ebay, then figure out how to fill in the AND/OR/NOT forms on AS to match the search terms used on ebay -- which can be complicated for complex searches.
Rainald - seems the AS search is 'broken' as it will only work properly for www.ebay.com searches (see my other recent posts trying to encourage AS support to fix this problem). I want it to search internationally but it fails miserably. I suggest you raise a support case to try to further encourage them to do something...

As for paying for it - why? We already pay for each winning snipe, surely AS should offer it free as it is a product that helps us to buy more stuff, thus boosting their income.

Ebay limit you to three searches, perhaps AS could set a limit (say 10), beyond which you pay your 10 cents or whatever?

Whatever happens, until AS Support fix the bugs, the AS searches aren't much good to international users!
Have had case pending for at last 6-8 weeks.

Problem:
(1) Do search for FORD.. produces 8 pages for FORD.

(2) Next do search for CHEVROLET.. produces 1 page for CHEVROLET, pages 2-8 repeat of FORD pages.

(3) Next do search for DODGE.. produces 1 page for Dodge, pages 2-8 repeat of FORD pages.

(4) Next do search for FIAT.. produces 1 page for FIAT, pages 2-8 repeat of FORD pages.

It is absolutely inexcusable that you have done NOTHING to rectify this situation. Searches that do not search, diminish your income stream and tick off your custimers. WAKE UP and smell the money you are missing.

Instead of working on the problem, I fully expect some snotty reply that my case has ONLY been pending for 5-7 weeks. Don't nitpick your customers.. get your house in order!

Hi. I use auctionsniper now for a week and i am most happy with the my wins aplication.I think its great i can see at once ,if i paid, when i paid, how much i paid, how i paid and so on. Big Grin

I think auctionsniper is great for the moment i do not wanna stay around (middle of the night) or i want to be really sure i will win the bid.

But the searching is not going great. Frown

One day the same search is doing allright, but next i get a mistake Confused

Length cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: length Confused

I do not understand what this means. Frown i,ve changed the searches name and sometimes the search will go, but next time i log in,i get the same mistake? Mad
what am i doing wrong

P.S I totally agree with Ranier? that it would be great if you have like on ebay the option to search for items available to our countries. For him Germany, for me Holland Smile

chaotic
I am SO glad that I am not the only one having trouble with searches. I have gotten the "less than zero" error page, but since when I contact AS support about issues like this, AS support blames my system/environment, it seemed hopeless for me.

Search is not working like it used to even when it works at all. My searches are limited to 50 items - the first fifty that AS comes across. The same search in ebay gives me several hundred. Since I'd prefer to have the AS searches since I can snipe from there, I may not be making as many snipes (hint, hint).

Kevin (AS Support) has told me that he will be looking at Searches this week...

Hopefully he'll investigate some of the following topics (feel free to add in some more!)

1. Stop the 'less than zero' error - this appears to be a programming bug and nowt to do with user environment (or maybe a combination of the two).

2. Allow searchers to specify their preferred country to search and to default to when they click on an item

3. Make the 'Search Now' results more closely resemble the emailed results (why are they different layouts?) plus 'back to search menu' buttons etc to make them more user friendly

4. Give users the options of what info to display in their search results (eg. Number of bids so far).

5. Ability to import Ebay searches into AS. This would be brilliant as, once you've fine tuned an Ebay search the next obvious thing is to set it up on AS

6. Your idea goes here! Add them in - let's let Kevin/AS know what we want so he can fix it for us once and for all
and this from Support when asked in 2007 when Searches were going to be fixed:
quote:
I‘m afraid I don‘t have a solid answer to that question. We will be addressing this issue some time in the future, however, I do not have a good idea when this development will take place at present. We deliberately built this feature into the Auction Sniper website so we certainly understand its utility but, unfortunately, resolving this problem falls pretty low on the priority list in the overall scheme of things.

If I had to guess, I‘m not even sure I could say with confidence that this "bug" would be fixed in the next six months. Searches are certainly an important part of the Auction Sniper website, however, it is only a very small percentage of searches that are adverseley affected so the user impact is actually very low. We develop and maintain a plethora of different websites that divert our organization‘s focus away from Auction Sniper and, unfortunately, Auction Sniper issues that are not integral to the automated bidding process tend to be depriortized and take a considerable amount of time to address.

In summation, our development team will be addressing this issue in the future but it will likely be a great deal of time, most likely several months, before it is corrected. Therefore, in the mean time, when you have a search that isn‘t behaving as expected in Auction Sniper, I recommend conducting that search using eBay‘s search tools.

I realize this is probably not what you wanted to hear but my I hope you appreciate my intent to provide you with the most accurate response possible, even when that response doesn‘t entail a set ETA. If there is anything further I can do to assist you, please don‘t hesitate to ask!

Sincerely,
Michael Davies
