I just don't want people to know that I am sniping, and I think that is a dead giveaway. Should it matter if people know?
The fact that your bid registers in the last few moments of an auction by definition characterizes you as a "sniper". TWO of your bids hitting simultaneously MAY tip off folks that you are using a sniping service, but not neccessarily. They may chalk it up to an ebay glich!

Well that got a little chuckle.
I had considered starting my first post with “Hi, it's me again.”

You think that’s bad – one person had 4 snipes with the same times recorded in a auction’s bid history. It’s unlikely the seller would realize what was going on, unless they understood how a service like AS worked. But it probably would cause them, and the other bidders, to scratch their heads. It might even make the other bidders think you are one scary dude, or dudette.

Well, we’ve debated that enough times. It shouldn’t matter, but to some sellers it does, and they get on here and get very, VERY VOCAL about it. And, since most every one turns off InstaMail, it would appear that most snipers don’t want to advertise that they use a sniping service. Since we snipe to save money, some sellers tend to think the savings are coming out of their pockets.

The odd thing is that it seems placing manual snipes get less bashing than automated snipes. I guess the seller feels better when someone has to work for the snipe, or something.
