Just made my first Snipe purchase...and I found out that if you run the time down to around 2 to 3 secs...you have a better chance on winning...or I will just say...it worked for me instead of the 5 secs.

Anyway....I LOVE IT !!! NO MORE WAITING AROUND TO BID ALL NIGHT OR EARLY IN THE MORNING !!!

Keep up the good work Auction Sniper !!!

It works great, all right. Smile But if you're cutting the time that close you run the risk of a sudden slowdown preventing your snipe from making it to eBay on time. I usually use 8 seconds, and longer if the auction ends on a Sunday night or on the hour, half hour, or quarter hour. Remember, it's the high bid, not nescessarily the last bid, that gets the widget! Big Grin And congratulations on the successful snipe!!

In general snipes of less than 5 seconds work just fine. Even 1 second snipes. However fordf is correct that when the stuff hits the fan at eBay those are the first to be missed. They probably work 98-99% of the time though. So only 1 or 2 in 100 might miss. Not a whole lot more than those with 5 seconds. If the small addtional risk it worth it then by all means go ahead and use 2-4 seconds.
I'm a new user (won two in the first week), but I would say even 10 seconds is better than 5 because if there are other snipers, you will have your snipe in first, so they will need to be higher than you rather than the other way around. No non-sniper will be able to get a bid in without AS or similar software.

Now what happens when all ebayers use AS? No more advantage, right? ;~}

You'd think, but eBay gets more sign ups in one day than we even have customers.

Since we have few ways to let all those new eBay users know about us I dont think it'll get to any point close to everyone using us.

We're already 30 million eBay users behind and growing "
