I think I will set it at 14 seconds! Thanks everyone! If I win, I will be happy, if I loose, no big thing!

That's probably fine, Sunny. Good luck!

What do you think about listing similar collectable items (with "see my other auctions" in the discription) that the same buyers will want to bid on only a minute apart, or... closing at the same time.
Wouldn't this encourage two things:
1. Lots of healthy nibbling as non-AS bidders scamper back and forth from one item to another then to another?
2. or... Lots of healthy AS sniping?
As a seller, you've got to think like a non-AS bidder don't you?

I don’t become a seller often, but do from time to time, and have some experience with collectibles.
There are arguments both for and against your idea. Personally, I want identical items to be at least several days apart. Similar (but different) items I like to put 5 minuets or more apart. The most expensive item is always last.
Why? I want the less experienced losers of the early auctions to have time to realize they lost and reconsider their maximum bid. The items I sell tend to draw a lot of snipers (mostly manual I think).

...I imagine there are volumes on how and when to list your ebay item. What to do about multiple listings, competitors and initial pricing. The thought of listing similar items close enough together (in closing time, of course) to not give fevered newbee buyers time to calm down and think is valid, I think.

Henry,
How about a low starting bid with a high reserve and an even higher BIN? A reserve only needs one newbie/nibbler to get a bidding war going.

Rick,
Wouldn't the high reserve wear them out, sooner or later? My point was to catch a group in a buying fever, going from one auction to another (all yours of course), trying to play 3 to 4 auctions at once.

Rick, you know how I feel about reserve auctions... but.
A reserve would maybe wear me out, but not any more than another bidder continously outbidding me.
If you have 3-4 bidders, bidding on 3-4 auctions all at once, someone is going to miss getting their max bid in on time. I prefer giving everyone time to bid. More bids mean a higher selling price.
I don't want to put words in Rick's mouth, but I think his point was... With a reserve, you only need one interested party to start a bidding war (with the reserve price). With no reserve, you need at least 2 bidders.

Another one.
Why do most sellers think they are the only one you bought that gizmo from? Suddenly you get 3 of 6 packages of the same type gozmo. Now..Who gets the feedback. None of the names on the return addresses matches the names of the sellers of the items!!!!
Why can't the sellers just put a slip of paper in with the gizmos with the item number on it. That way the buyer knows whos items have arrived and whos did not.

I never thought of that Shop, but I often put my username on the back of the envelope. I will have to remember that for the future

Shop,
That's a very good idea! I'll try to remember that. Now that I think of it, I'm not sure I've always put the eBay item # on my shipping paper to the buyer.
Thanks!

How about the Paypal invoice? That's got everything.
If you arent in US, paypal doesnt have anything to do with your Selling on Ebay. Well it doesnt work for Australia anyways.
