Sniper failure

A lot of people are experiencing this. I have filed a report with Support and A.S. say they are aware of the problem and are working on it, but no more information has been forthcoming.
Alternatives are either do like I am doing and try to snipe items direct from the Ebay site (if you have access to a pc when the item ends). Just make a normal proxy bid on Ebay and cross your fingers no one snipes you. Change to another sniping company or wait until they sort the problem out.

For now there is an easy solution:

#1 use Internet Explorer outside of AOL. Do not use AOL's web browser.

#2 If #1 doesnt work then use any other web browser, Mozilla, Firefox, Netscape, Opera, etc.

#3 file a support case on our help tab.

Use this system. It works just as well.

I like some features of that such as it gives you user profile before buying from the user.

Hey Guys didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. But it does seem to me that if one system doesn't work for U try another. That's what free enterprise is all about. It engenders healthy competition and benefits the users. And I am a user myself. No affliation to either AS or EZ. I have used both systems and like them for their individual functionality.
AS costs less than EZ for larger purchases and has some good features too. The grouping facility for example.

Keep an open mind and live longer !

True... and that's probably the way you sould have said it. This is the support area on a forum paid for by AS. Doesn't seem right to provide a direct link to another service and competitor.

Kinda like filling a closet with stuff in a house bought and paid for by someone else.
I'd be tempted to haul their stuff out to the curb.

Happy AS customers wont bother looking at another service, the *unhappy* ones will be driven off by rudeness when they make some noise about being unhappy or make suggestions

Confused – AGAIN?

If you go back to the post that started this little agree/disagree (the one containing the controversial link and the one that got, “Rude does not even describe it!! Some people just don't have their heads screwed on tight!!”), you’ll see that the link hasn’t been removed.

Of course, all this additional posting on this topic is only giving that link more coverage (bumping it to the top while adding to the reply and view count). Incase someone wants me to elaborate on “coverage”; if you think it was inappropriate leaving that link, the more you comment here, the more you’ll be adding to its inappropriateness. But since I’m opened minded, I don’t mind people encouraging what they think is inappropriate.

All the above comments have some validity and both PR and MW comments are reasonable.

But I believe this forum isn't just about AS. I think its really about providing the 'punter' with the best 'tools' for shopping on Ebay. In this context if a person has problems with the tool they are using, I didn't see harm in helping them with 'an out of the box' solution. In my humble opinion I may have even helped AS because informed people make better decisions and eventually someone who comes across this forum may thank me for truly 'helping'.

I would also like to thank AS for supporting an open forum.

R2 and I are prolly the only ones that went to the price section and had a look, and thats probably got more to do with some ongoing issues than any reliability issues.

I think that's accurate. Which means the only two regulars that are trying to improve AS, and the service. May be too many people defending it instead of trying to improve it.

I did half that... haven't done the decision thing... yet. (Kinda seriously)

OK... I admit it... I was looking for something bad when I found their prices
AND
noticed they have private turned on.

I did not look nor do I plan to do so. I am not having any major problems with AS sniping. I investigated several services before I joined and found this service was overall the best for my needs.

Well, Rick, I have lead a very sucessful life so I guess I will be just fine. I feel very confident in my decisions.

Links are still there. Looks like one less rule to worry about.

I want to thank all of you who gave me excellent advice on my first sniper attempt. I WON!!! It was like watching magic happen before my eyes. I sat with my ebay screen opened and kept hitting refresh counting down to the last few seconds and then boom...up came my name and seconds later.WINNER!!! Thank you all so much. This was a very needed item for my business.
