I was just reading this on ebay. But where do you do it? I couldn't find it.

Searching by ZIP Code allows you to find listings by sellers in your area. This is especially helpful if you're considering purchasing an item that is oversized or fragile. You might even be able to personally inspect the item before bidding.

Also, sellers may offer more shipping options to buyers in their region. Always check the seller's shipping and handling instructions in the listing, or contact the seller directly, to ask them about special shipping options for your region.

When you do a regular search, you can specify that you're looking for items that come from a particular area in advanced search using the Distance pull-down menu. Your search will be filtered to show only items within the area you select.

From eBay boards...

Hi all. I wanted to answer your questions about the Items Near Me feature.

We're in the process of introducing a new distance sort based on ZIP Codes, and the old Items Near Me filter will be going away.

During the transition period, you can use the "Customize" link in the "Search Options" section in the left nav of search and listings pages to add the Items Near Me filter to your page.

In the coming days, we'll add a new option to the Sort drop-down menu on Search results pages: "Distance: nearest first." For the first time, buyers will be able to sort search results by distance from their ZIP Code. That will help sellers who live in areas that were not listed in eBay's old regions list. It will also help buyers to find items that they would not have seen using the old Items Near Me filter.

Cool, Thanks for the info Skinny Smile

MG, it is working now! (sort of) Wink

Do a search. You'll get a page of auctions. On the left nav bar at the very bottom click the customize link. Add 'Items Near Me' to the options you want displayed and then Save.

You'll now have that option in the nav bar after a search. Check it and click 'Show items'

You'll have to select the area you want to search the first time through.
