I have read several members' comments that cancellations should be made 2 minutes before the auctions end.

However, This page says cancellation cab be done up to 1 minute. ttp://www.auctionsniper.com/products.aspx

Which one is right?

Also, another question which I don't think it was made very clear about the usage of BigGroup.

Lets say I am sniping for 2 items which one ends 30 seconds after the other one. Both items are put in a biggroup, set to win only one item and lead time is 5 seconds.

Assumed AS has won the 1st one and the 2nd one is finishing in 30 seconds, will AS snipe the 2nd one or not? Notice AS only has less than 25 seconds (5 seconds lead time plus a few seconds to find out whether As won the 1st snipe item or not) to cancel the 2nd snipe.

I guess AS should make this very clear for BigGroup users.

Thanks

i could not find what you were refering to about one min., but this is from faq
quote:
9. When can I add, modify, or cancel a snipe?

You can add, modify, or cancel a snipe as long as there is at least 3 minutes left until the auction ends. When the auction is about to end, you may notice that a lock will replace the Cancel and Modify links. In the event that you have not refreshed the page, and the Cancel and Modify links still exist for a snipe that is ending in less than 3 minutes, any changes made will be disregarded. For reliability and performance, our bidding system prepares snipes three minutes in advance and so you must make your changes before this time.

And, from faq, this should answer the second question.

quote:
Can I add two or more bids with the same auction ending time to a bid group?

Sorry, no. It is impossible for us to detect to see if you have won a snipe, and then cancel the rest, if they end at the same time. You should allow at least 30 seconds between bid group items to give us enough time to determine if you've won the first item

Morning all

This is the way I understand it.

Its kind of a gray area. AS says Bids can be canceled up to 1 min. before being sent to eBay. However AS adjusts the timing earlier during busy periods, sometimes as much as one minute. If AS is sending bids in one minute early, that minute + the one minute lead time is 2 minutes before auction end. The extra minute 'M' talks about is a safty buffer.

AS must receive a 'Did not win' message from eBay before it will bid on a second item in a bid group. You can enter two items ending at the same time in a bidgroup, but only one will get bid on.

Cancel your bid. When you bid directly though eBay, it is generally difficult to cancel your bid. With Auction Sniper, you can cancel your bid up to 1 minute before our servers place it for you. So you are buying time to think about your bid and make sure it's what you intend.

This is one minute before OUR server places it for you, which is two minutes before the one minute = three minutes! Confusing, huh? Smile

Yes, that's confusing...

I would think that one minute "Before" our server "places it" for you - means one minute before the EXACT TIME I ask AS to place my sniper, not three minutes which comes from nowhere if you just read that part? Wouldn't you argee ?
