Hello all,

In an effort to clean up the pages a bit help those on modems I'd like everyone to please transfer images in their signatures to the Avatar section in your profile. This is in your profile just above where your signature is found.

If you could please do that and also remove any HTML from your signature I would appreciate it and I think many of the lurkers here and new peopel to the forums and those seeking help and on modems would too.

The avatar feature lets you enter a custom avatar of your choosing, or select from a few provided by the creators of this forum software. I trust that you are all ingenious enough to come up with some fantastic avatars and I'm looking forward to that a lot. There are several pages of provided avatars though so be sure to use the "next" link when selecting one to view them all.

Thank you

MG This is what you have entered.

To much info, and way to big... It needs to be

You will also have to reduce the size to 48 x 48. Your pic is currently 640 x 480.

This, for example is the correct size, and
would be entered as

You'll have to shop around for a pic that can be reduced in size and still be recognized.

Is signature going to go away some day, or just the html?

Neither. This message board software wont let us turn off the HTML in just the signature. If we did that we'd have to turn it off in the whole message board and I dont like that. Everyone uses HTML to good use in posts. Whether posting pictures for others or formatting bid histories, etc.

I think if Infopop made an update where it could be turned off in only the signature I'd probably do it though.

Welcome back.

Thanks Puppy - it wasnt a planned exit. Some dopey Cow-Cocky (Dairy Farmer) cut our phone lines whilst he was fencing. Telstra being Telstra...took forever to send a *crew* (1 bloke) to repair it. The only good thing is, as it took them so long to repair, they have to credit my mobile (cell) AND home account with some $$ for the *inconvenience of not having a phone line and having to use my mobile for all calls.

Mrs. M,
Spooky?...Yes, but here's what's behind it...

So…what’s with all these bones and skulls?

Some people believe that Tibetan Buddhism is a macabre religion with ghoulish deities and a strange obsession with bones, blood and gore. This is a complete misunderstanding of the symbolism involved in the tantric rituals. The fact is that there is an emphasis on each of our own impending deaths, but this is not a morbid fixation, but rather an impetus to make the most of life while we have the opportunity. The belief is that since death is inevitable, one should be mindful of the important things in life - cultivating kindness and compassion for all sentient beings, and practicing virtue and meditation - techniques to discipline the mind and elevate consciousness.
Many people have an aversion to bones and blood and such because, when it comes down to it, this makes them think of their own mortality, and they don't want to think about that for a second. So among worldly people there is a certain degree of repulsion for such things. On the other hand, the tantric Buddhist approach is to view them, contemplate them, even handle them and use them - its all about using the symbols of death as a means for understanding what life is really about. Utilizing death to come to terms with life is "skillful means" - a very important concept in Buddhism as many of you are no doubt very aware.
