Of course, Jake - you cannot possibly have a vice-president with no vices! Although anyone who uses 'loose' for 'lose' (use trousers test) or sticks an 's' on the end of a verb ending in 'y' will be guiled with schrebs.

Jabber, I think he's talking about having loose trousers versus losing them. There's a subtle difference.

Thanks for the explanation. I thought that might be the case. I was hoping
the "trousers test" might include a tip/hint indicating which spelling to use.
I guess I just need to remember the long spelling (loose) is pronounced
short, the short spelling (lose) is pronounced long!

The English language is a real trip, isn't it Jabber?
