Mine's not checked, either.
Sara, if you read this, could you change it so that I can use a custom avatar too?

Griper's what, Jake?
Mike - president, founder and sole member of CTSOFA (campaign to stamp out floating apostrophes)
SORRY! I stand corrected.
Does this mean I cannot be your vice president?

I have given up even trying to put that avatar thing, so I do not even try to do anything anymore.

Of course, Jake - you cannot possibly have a vice-president with no vices! Although anyone who uses 'loose' for 'lose' (use trousers test) or sticks an 's' on the end of a verb ending in 'y' will be guiled with schrebs.
Now we'll see if anyone reads this......

Jabber, I think he's talking about having loose trousers versus losing them. There's a subtle difference.

Falcon,
Thanks for the explanation. I thought that might be the case. I was hoping
the "trousers test" might include a tip/hint indicating which spelling to use.
I guess I just need to remember the long spelling (loose) is pronounced
short, the short spelling (lose) is pronounced long!

The English language is a real trip, isn't it Jabber?

Why has RICK got Mrs M's avatar - it confuses me!?
Why is this thread still running (and stuck in pos 1 in the list) - come on Sara - it's old news now!
