Just saw this notation on an auction:
quote:
"I only accept PAYPAL and I only ship to confirmed PAYPAL address"

I do remember, years ago when I had sold an item to a member who was using a credit card, that PayPal required me to link my PayPal to my Bank Account, to allow the transaction.

Now they allowed that transaction and deducted 'points' for the credit card fee. This I understood, but then the next sale (no CC involved) also had same 'points' deducted.

I subsequently closed this account (nothing to do with PP), but was relieved to not be 'linked' since reading internet horror stories about mistaken or fraudulent cleaning innocent PayPal member's Bank Account.

Does this just mean that the seller quoted above is avoiding having to link 'HIS' Bank Account to HIS PayPal?

If I were to offer an item for sale, would I need to post the same note? (Or worry about linking MY Bank Account again?)

Just how safe do you consider this 'link' to be and are there recommended safeguards that could be employed?
