hey, so there's this item I just *have* to have Big Grin Umm....I am curently the highest bidder, as I hadn't thought about auction sniping until after placing the bid Roll Eyes If I set up an auction snipe now, will I end up outbidding myself at the end? Confused

The current bid is £10.50, so, say I bid £20 on AS, how would that work? Would it go to the next increment? Or would it stay at £10.50, if no one else bids obviously?!!

Thanks for any help in advance! Big Grin

Yes, you cannot outbid yourself on eBay, with or without AS. I think most of us do not combine AS with regular proxy bids, because by bidding early on an item, you are drawing attention to it. Before learning about AS, I often lost bids by bidding too early. Later bidders were able to figure out my top bid and beat me by 50 cents or a dollar.
The...er...strategy was pretty non - existent until I thought of auction sniping! Went into town earlier to check the price of the item and in the end I seem to have got it for like a quarter of the price! Yay! Here's the number...:- 5316785135

Edit: The auction listing says that they bought it for £30, but in our local department store it was like £36.00.....
