Well I wish that Auctionsniper would publish a comment about this on there homepage or a watch this space so that thier international customers could be informed of the status. I guess I'll just have to look elsewhere...

Just to add to the problem of not being able to place any snipes because of 'item not found'; I live in Belgium, Europe and am a satisfied user of AS for years too.
I do not think the problem is only linked to international Ebays out of the US!! I just tried to snipe 2 items here in Belgium and get the same answer as you! So .... please AS.... help!!

it's because ebay tries to pressure sellers into using their paypal service.

items from belgium or elsewhere outside the u.s. don't appear in the ebay.com searches if paypal is not checked as an option.

what i donÄ't get is, why AS needs so long to adjust to the problem. other snipe services had solved the problem within a day.

You should be surprised a lot of Belgian people prefer Paypal payments!
But as I log in on ebay.be , I can off course see all belgian items, accepting Paypal or not. That is not the issue, I want to put a snipe on a Belgian item, living in Belgium... have done this before maybe a hundred times! but impossible to put the snipes for the moment...

Hi I'm from Germany and here paypal is not often used. At the moment I can't import anything! I am so used to the auction sniper I am totaly out of shape in bidding the normal way. My laptop is so slow, it's annoying.
I hope the problem is solved soon.

As this problem is clearly eBay trying to force both buyers and sellers to use PayPal (remember the good old days when the first $500 were free and so were debit card charges?), is there not a class action case to be made against them for restraint of trade?

Possibly, but not only do we seem to take whatever eBy dishes out lying down, we should not forget one such suit against PayPal was successful. Hey, we are their source of income.

I read something in this thread about another sniping service but I can't find it now. Weird. Anyway the other service that I'm now using is having no probs with international auctions - I've already won a couple that AS couldn't find. But there are actually a lot of other services having this problem too, apparently.

I live in Germany and have the problem too. I am very disappointed. I use AS for 5-20 auctions each day and now nothing works (except the few US-auctions with paypal). It is impossible to bid on so many auctions in the "usual" way. The last update from Mike D. about that matter was almost a week ago. Couldn't they tell us how long we will have to wait? I mean - I know they can't give us an exact date but I would be happy if I'd know if we talk about hours, days, weeks or months...

I can still snipe several german auctions. Only the non-paypal auctions can't be sniped. Just give AS some time to fix it.

Unfortunately 90% of all german auctions I bid on are none-Paypal-ones (Paypal is not as common here as in the USA). And I think I gave them some time (6 days since the last info-update). I am afraid I have to move soon.

Update - I am pleased to report that we were able to release a fix for this problem last night, so customers should now be able to successfully add snipes on international eBay auctions which accept payment methods that are not accepted on eBay US. We anticipate that we'll need to make a few more changes to get the snipe status updates working seamlessly for those items though.
