Problem Adding Snipes on Some Items on International eBay Sites

Hi Community,

We have seen some cases today in which customers have been unable to add snipes for certain items posted on some international eBay sites, such as eBay Germany and eBay France. If you are trying to add a snipe on an item that is posted on an international eBay site and you receive a "Could Not Find Item" message when attempting to do so, you are most likely being affected by this issue.

It appears that eBay implemented a change today that caused this to start happening with respect to international listings that take payment methods that are not available in the US, so you should not encounter this problem with listings for which Paypal is accepted.

In any event, our engineering team is aware of this issue and is working to get a resolution in place as soon as possible. I have not been given a concrete ETA as to when this issue will be resolved yet, but I will post further updates on this situation to this thread as additional information becomes available.

Hi Community,

Update - I just spoke to our technical team regarding this situation and, while we're still not far enough along in the development process to provide a specific ETA as to when this problem may be resolved, we are going to add some functionality to the site tomorrow to let users know why their snipes cannot be added when they are being affected by this issue.

I will continue to post updates on this issue to this thread as additional information becomes available.

Update - I am pleased to report that the development necessary to resolve this problem is nearing completion and we now expect to have a fix in place that will address this problem a bit later this week - possibly even as early as this afternoon. I will continue posting further updates on this issue to this thread as additional information becomes available.

Hi Community,

Update - I am pleased to report that we were able to release a fix for this problem last night, so customers should now be able to successfully add snipes on international eBay auctions which accept payment methods that are not accepted on eBay US. We anticipate that we'll need to make a few more changes to get the snipe status updates working seamlessly for those items though.
