Uhm, well, what I mean is best explained with a real auction:
I had a snipe armed at 8.88 for item 871427135 and I lost to a bid of 8.50 US$. I would like to have an option when I arm a snipe that does the following: In case that by the time the snipe is
a) ready to fire,
b) would be higher than the current high bid
c) but is not enough for the current bid plus bidding increment
then, and only then, increase my snipe-bid by the bidding increment applicable to my current bid.
(I believe <5 =.25; 5<20 =.50; and so forth)
In my case, a) b) and c) are true, and with this option set AS would have autoincreased my bid by .50 US$ to 9.38 US$ and I could have won (given there was no higher proxy bid pending).
It sounds complicated, but I would use it.
