Has anyone had trouble getting on ebay recently. Since thursday 16th June, I.ve hardly been able to load the pages. The rest of the web is fine, but any ebay page whether UK, USA, France or Germany crawls for minutes and if the page loads, it doesn't look right or there's errors. I've got a 1 meg broadband connection and yet on ebay it's 10 times slower than a dial up. Never in the last 2 years have I ever experienced this with ebay and it is very frustrating,

Ebay (UK) was behaving perfectly normally last night.

I have an ISDN connection which is better than ordinary dialup, but slower than Broadband.

Must be your supplier.

There was a time when the same thing happened to me and I called BT in and they sorted it out - corrosion of the wires.

However, I do live in a rural area with overhead wires that come in a fair way off the road to my home. As I am the only one on this particular "strand" of wire, I do get odd experiences from time to time.
Simple R2, no exchange with Broadband! (this of course is the consequence of living in the far west of the UK. Mind you the nearest traffic light is 18 miles away (ditto roundabouts!), a river outside my window, beaches ten minutes away, mountains 30 mins, so there are compensations.

Home Highway + Midband (2 channel combiner) has been costing me £80 - £100+ per month for the last 2 years. You are given a restricted time allowance and woe betide going over it. (i.e 2 channels then costs you 2 phone calls!) It has been a very expensive experience! After two £400+ quarterly bills I started looking at the instructions - discovered that clicking once on the "pay as you go" option permanently connected you at paying rates if you work on a notebook and just engage "sleep mode"

Things are about to change - the lady from BT "she say yes" August 4th.

She was very sweet (& persuasive!) Signed up for Voice over Broadband, but don't fully understands the "ins & outs" I just hope it gives me two external lines + internet access at the same time - as ISDN does. Hopefully the only consequence is loss of one number.

Anybody know if I am "barking up the wrong tree?"
Every other web page loads in seconds. its only ebay I have a problem with.
