Mrs M: I Googled up to Hum birds to find
what I should be feeding and found this
flood of Info which I'm reading...
A friend last year chewed my butt royaly
for feeding Hollow Calories to
the birds Just so I could see them..
As they need Nutrition after their long
flight from Costa Rica.. Many die from
people feeding "weak" Jello -Cool Aid or sugar
water ......is the answer Honey?
well I'm still reading as I want to
do the right thing. I have half dozen
with me all summer - this year
I want to do more than take pictures
of them - and help the weak ones
survive so they can nest properly..
I Have seen the Ruby Throat for the
last eleven years so am hooked.....

Mory - we used to have humming birds here during the summer, but I haven't seen one in several years Don't know if it's due to pesticides, changing weather or just because my neighbors moved and the new residents don't have the back yard full of flowers. The only thing that seems to be drawn to my flowers are aphids!
