For the first time ever AS let me down on item 111115698021
- reason being AS could not place the bid due to "invalid User ID/Password" - even though I know you had the correct one as nothing has chnaged since winning bids. To help you with this you may be interested to know that I got a "you must change your password" message from ebay - their message said they had reset the password due to unusual activity and "The unusual activity may be a result of using a sniping site to bid on your behalf at the last minute"

So it seems AS tried to place my snipe - maybe several times??? (which may have won as it was for more than the winning bid) but for what ever reason ebay detected this - changed my password and then of course when you tried again the Password you had did not match my ebay one. I then reset my AS password to my new ebay one but when I try to verify it on AS it also comes back with an invalid PW... so think you have a problem.... hope the above helps sort it out

Hi IanHutch57,

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced.

I clicked the "View Confirmation" button next to this snipe within your account (look for the eye icon) and confirmed that, while our software did attempt to place your scheduled bid on this item, we were unable to bid successfully because we encountered the following error when attempting to login to eBay on your behalf:

Your email/user ID or password is incorrect.

Although I am well aware that eBay will routinely reset passwords when they detect accounts may have been accessed by unauthorized parties, this is actually the first time I have heard of them potentially doing so as a result of “...using a sniping site to bid on your behalf at the last minute.” If that was indeed the reason, hopefully this will prove to be an isolated incident.

Regardless, I have forwarded the details of your situation to our Product Management team to make them aware of this occurrence.

Since your Auction Sniper credentials match your eBay credentials once again at this time, our software should be able to successfully place any future snipes you schedule - unless, of course, eBay finds it necessary to reset your password again.

If you need any further assistance with your account, please feel free to contact our Customer Support team by mousing over the “Help” tab within your account and selecting the “Contact Support” option.

-Mike
