Ok...I am new to AS and want to know if the scenario below is possible or not. If so, can someone help me configure it...

I have been looking for a specific radar detector for awhile now- Escort 9500ix.

When I check "Completed Listings" on eBay, I often find that there were items listed at great prices, Buy-It-Now, but by the time I see them, they are gone.

I'd like to pay up to $300 for a used one, $350 for a new one.

My question is this...
Can AS automatically go out every couple of hours and search for the criteria specified above, if something matches, either automatically bid on it, or email me to let me know. There was one that was posted today for $275 BIN, but I missed it. I have been checking eBay 2-3 times a day, but apparently that is not enough.

Thanks for all the help! I am really looking forward to using AS, and spreading the word to friends and family!

Probably not - what if the listing said spare widget for Escort 9500ix and they normally sell for a few cents/pence? AS would bid your $350 and you'd win - how happy would you be with AS?

Ebay sends you emails but at daily intervals so AS could do the email thingy but I'm sure there are products out there that do that already...

I fully agree with region2.
How is a computer program supposed to reliably determine if an auction desciption containing your search words actually describes an item you would be willing to buy?

Even if you found a way to automatically sort out those auctions where only accessories (or just an empty box) are offered, what about the item condition? Does it work? Does it work, but ....? Or what still seems to be very popular: is it "untested" (which usually equals to "it's just crap, but i'm still trying to find some idiot (thinking he makes the deal of his life) willing to buy it")?

I doubt that there is any service or software out there that could do such a job in a satisfying way and i wouldn't trust any product claiming it does.

And finally where would this end up? Why bothering finding out what are the ideal products for you? Based on your profile, a computer could find out what you need or always wanted and automatically buy it for the best available price?

I think we should face the fact that the times where we can switch off our brains completely and leave all the thinking to some machines are yet to come (however, some people might not have to delegate a lot). Personally, i hope, that i'll already be gone should they ever come.
