region2--I did break down and sent a message to support, but really, do you think they didn't already know about this?

Their own system would let them know that there are an unusual number of snipes not going through for this uncommon reason. Don't think they have to monitor these forums to know what's going on.

Tech support just asked me for the auction number so they could look into it....WTF???? I wonder how that could possibly be of any use...
I suggest that you accept that AS has to react to changes/problems with ebay as best it can (as do most other sniping services). You could ask this question of AS support but, hopefully, they're now fully aware and on the case.

Or you could move onto bidbasher or auctioncreeper and suffer at their hands. As you say, the choice is yours.

R2 (a satisfied AS customer)
I snipe 40-50 items a month and have lost snipes because of the "Invalid userid/pass" problems 2-3 times in the past year. Once last night. And the last previous time was about 4 months ago.

So it's clear that there's a real BUG in Auctionsniper here, and that AS has not fixed the BUG even though it has existed for a long time.

I'm sure AS knows whether the problem occurred during the login, or after the login when attempting to place the bid. In either case, they could have retried, but there is no indication that they did so. They should have retried, and should have told us whether a retry also failed. So not only is there a bug, but their handling of it is incredibly sloppy and inefficient.

They haven't fixed it, and aren't even telling us what they are doing to avoid it and why they aren't doing more to avoid it.

Is AS dropping sessions and losing track of their logins when they have too many simultaneous bids to place? I'll bet ten to one that that's the problem. But why haven't they fixed it???
Add me to the list. This was my first attempt with AS.

My bid was never sent to Ebay due to "Invalid UserID/Pass" error. But, this is totally incorrect. My login/pass do match my Ebay login/pass exactly. So I missed an item that was very important to me.

I should have never trusted AS to do my bidding. I'm waiting for a response from support and will post that here as well.
I got a quick reply from Support. It's not very reassuring to me. They say the issue with Ebay has been resolved, but they admit that the problem was out of their hands. If it is an Ebay problem, AS probably wouldn't be able to verify that any problems were fixed. And, as AS users, we certainly can't verify that the problems were fixed. Obviously, the problem persists for some people. I don't think AS knows how to fix it.

From Support:
I‘m sincerely sorry your bid on this item was unable to be placed successfully. The failure of this snipe was actually caused by a sign-in issue on eBay‘s end, which has since been resolved. We sign into eBay approximately 3 minutes before a snipe is scheduled to be placed, however, during this period, eBay was not accepting our sign-in requests in a timely manner, so we could not place this bid on your behalf.

When we are unable to sign-in to eBay using the log-in information stored within your account, we display the "WARNING - Your stored username or password might be incorrect!" as a reminder to update your eBay sign-in information in the Auction Sniper system. Since your log-in information is correct, even though this message is displayed under several of your active snipes, they should still be placed successfully.

Although this issue was beyond our control, for taking the time to report this problem, I have credited your account with 3 additional free snipes. Auction Sniper provides the most effective and reliable automated bidding service in the industry and, for that reason, we hope you continue to use our service.
We aren't dropping connections or losing track of logins.

The problem from April 15th is unrelated to yours, otherwise there would be more posts here. And we log these every snipe so I'd know.

We snipe from many servers in different locations. That's better than retrying. Every snipe we do is redundant a couple ways. 2-3x out of hundreds of thousands of snipes is a small #. eBay isn't perfect. Neither are we of course but I don't believe this is an issue on our end and our logs and tracking support that.
