That is correct. It is against eBay policy to advertise anything unrelated to eBay. There is an update regarding this somewhere in Auction Sniper's FAQ section... I remember reading it.
If you have an About Me page in eBay you can place a link there. Be sure to use the referal link that AS provides, so you get free snipes if someone signs up by clicking on your link.
I'm talking about the check box in our Auction Sniper "Preferences" section. It says something about placing the Auction Sniper banner at the bottom of my auction. That is how I found out about Auction Sniper .... from the banner on someone elses ebay auction.
Yes, and if you check that box AS will not place a banner on your auctions because it is against eBay policy. The person who has an AS banner in their auctions is risking having their auctions pulled by eBay if they get caught.
Doesn't matter whether that box is checked or not, AS is not going to place a banner ad in your auctions.
57. I’ve got the sellers box checked for your banner, but it’s not working?
We’ve disabled that. We're no longer recommending the banner link, as eBay has canceled some seller's auctions with the link. It's inconsistently applied, probably because of the sheer number of auctions going, nevertheless some of our customers had their auctions canceled. You can however, create an about ME page for yourself on eBay, and put us there.
To get the AS referal link, click on the Help tab. Then scroll down to "Most Common Questions" and click on "I want to refer others!" You will be taken to a page where you can email friends about AS, AND generate a link to include on your web site, in your emails, etc. Just cut-n-paste it.
I have mine as part of my email signature, on my eBay "About Me" page in several spots, and in my yahoo profile.
If you are a seller, just remember it is against eBay policy to put non-eBay links in your auction listings. If caught, your auctions will be pulled.
When you block a person, they can no longer invite you to a private message or post to your profile wall. Replies and comments they make will be collapsed/hidden by default. Finally, you'll never receive email notifications about content they create or likes they designate for your content.
