One thing that no one mentioned in their responses to losing sleepis that when we win on AS it actually costs us a little more money, because we have to pay the AS fee, which while very reasonable, still means we are spending a little more cash than the sleep loser who spends a lot more time staring at their computer screen trying to bid at the very last minute. Time may be money, but my sleep has a great value too!
Precisely, in fact, my billing rate as a CPA would be about $150.00 an hour. I value a good hour of sleep as worth about $151.67.

Wow! Do CPAs actually make $150/hr? Seriously? (You DO mean Certified Public Accountant, right?)
Man! That's almost as good as I do as a professional forum poster!

Note I said
Since I left a public accounting firm 23 years ago, and work in private industry, I do not in fact bill that rate. But, a friend who started his own firm at the same time bills that rate.
But, he gets to work 75 hour weeks during tax season, which is not my idea of fun. I'd rather be a drummerdad.

OK. Let's just say I'm ? Now - considering the hourly rate of the "oldest profession" (which isn't really the oldest profession) professional (which puts a strange twist on a strange word) as compared to ... I think it's wise for me to stop at this point.
drummerdad - HI. "Pay" no attention to me. No one else does.
WELCOME! Hope you stick around.

You do take paypal Drummer?
Lexie
If I were charging $150.00/hr for accounting and tax services, of course I'd take paypal. Now, as for the $.25 you say I'd charge for reading posts,
1. It actually would be closer to $4.67, counting tthe time it takes me to reply, post, edit the post and repost. And since a partner I once worked for believed in "value billing", I'd have to charge -$4.67, because not only is the value of my AS advice essentially worthless, but I actually receive far more value than I contribute!

You can send your paypal payment to me then.
I'll forwared it on to those that I owe.

Yes, drummer is right. I have hired a few CPAs and they are VERY expensive, however, they also saved me plenty of money! So, value paid, value received!
Rick, I doubt that we don't pay attention to you! In such case, you have spent around 3566 posts talking to yourself!
Rick,
What do you think about that?

I much rather hire a CPA then a lawyer or a doctor.
And CPA's have better guarantees.

I've heard it's OK to talk to yourself....
as long as you don't say 'Speak Up, I can't hear you!'

OHHHHHHHHHH, puppy, you can't do that??
Lol, Rick, you are right about that!!

Don't know who I'd rather hire - but I know that I'd much prefer needing a CPA instead of a lawyer or a doctor.
I'd much rather BE a lawyer! You get paid by the word! Ok, well, not exactly, but what other profession makes a living out of covering all possible contingencies?
I hate my CPA but I really like my lawyer. Strange I know, but my CPA charges me like a wounded bill and his bill always seem to be approximately what the Tax office is reimbursing me.
My lawyer on the other hand, has never let me down and although he charges me to pick up the phone and talk to me and to READ faxes that I send him, I also seem to have more money left in my pocket
I like ToS's comment though - I would rather need an CPA than a Doctor or a Lawyer.
PS...I aint sending you a dime Puppy

Me too, Steve! LOL!
I tend to only "hire" what I "need".
