High bidder wants to use snipe.

Your already high bidder but your sleeping, working or shopping somewhere else and don't want to lose your auction so you put on a snipe for a even higher bid. If you win because no one bids against you are you charged for the snipe you didn't need? If not do you lose one of your free snipes?

If you are the high bidder before your snipe goes off (and you are still the high bidder after), you will not be charged nor will this use up any of your free snipes. Instead of a "You Win!" status message, it will read "High Bidder."

Hi,

No. Your max bid is placed, but it will only go high enough to win the item. So if you are already high bidder it wont go up. Nor will you be charged a winning snipe since it did not need to be sniped.

On any snipe you will only bid as much as is needed to win, not the maximum amount you entered.
So if you entered 40. And the next highest bid was $15. You'd win for $15.50.
