Sounds like AS should fess up a few free snipes to try an entice those of us who missed out on items due to a service they couldn't provide. Some customer loyalty may be reenforced if they did this. Three to five snipes would be nice. It's something AS does have in their control and mayber this would help with the public relations.

Tried all that. My gripe was justified as many others I've seen on the board but no offer of free snipes to my knowledge. One of the AS workers explained the deal with Ebay changing on them but this still doesn't win me the auction I missed out on. I guess it just sucks to have an auction close out when Ebay changed the rules. Oh well, we'll see if AS makes an offer.

Did anyone else who received the "Did not win" message get free snipes?
Let's see. We all use AS because of this (statement taken from the homepage):

Are you tired of losing eBay auctions?
You’ve come to the right place. Auction Sniper is an eBay sniper that automates the process of placing your eBay bid in the closing seconds of any eBay bidding auction, dramatically increasing your chance of winning. We keep it simple: you tell us what you want to win, and we snipe eBay for you. Best of all, Auction Sniper is free to try. After winning your first auction with our help, you’ll never eBay bid the same way again.

A service I agree to pay for and continue to support. If you buy a product from a store and it's not as advertised, you take it back to the store. You don't take it back to the manufacturer of that product. You go to the people who are providing you the service to fix the problem. If the store refused to fix it, you probably would be reluctant to shop there unless it was a speciality store and the only one in town. This is AS. If they had more competition, they may be more willing to try and pacify their customers but since they are the only game in town, they are pretty safe in knowing the customers won't leave no matter what. I’m a little slow this AM. I take it by the smiley face that you meant that as a satire?
Agree, the shop example isn't exactly equal but you do lose an opportunity to win if AS doesn't work, which is the service they are selling and the reason they exist.

The previous statement concerning more competition should have been worded, you would think AS would try to pacify their customers more since they do have competition.

I don't use anything else so I don't know if the other auction sniping services suffered the same or what kind of downtime they may have experienced.

All I see here is a series of verbose attempts to gain free snipes when they are not necessarily warranted. I think AS conformed rather quickly to eBay's new formats, but alas, there were some folks (myself included) whose snipes fell in the small crevice while AS scrambled to step up to the plate. But I did not see that as a reason for a shakedown.
