I ordered some. Might as well take a chance at that price! Cheaper than paper!!
MG already has some?
Just came back to turn of the computer and also bought some. Thanks for info ...Mory Nite All
Lol..nite again, Mory!
Me too!
Mg and Jabber, I got an email this AM that the labels had been shipped so I should know soon how they will work. If the don't, my great grandbaby will have a lot of paper to draw on and play with. She steals my printer paper now, so this is a lot cheaper!
Sorry I didn't stick around last night....I was sooooo tired
Yes these are the ones that will work with the usps site. I did peel one up and it's sticky I'll go stick one on a box and see what happens. YUP! Good adhesion
They come from Wallace paper co. and the inside packages say UPS label # etc. I got them so quick because they came from Bolingbrook IL, only a couple hours away. Maybe this guy is selling them for UPS? Well, I don't care!! A good deal is a good deal!! heh I might even buy more while the sale is on.
Jabber .....I use a link from USPS and never pay for printing the label. Is that what you were referring to with the credit card? Even delivery confirmation is free there.I'll try to find a link and post it. (I have to go steal it off my hubby's puter, haven't been able to slow down the visiting comp. tech to fix mine )

No, MG he knows about that. He was asking if he is on the My Ebay page and wants to print and pay postage for something other than Ebay and NOT pay for it from paypal, I think. Of course you can click on any of the buttons and change the address , then print postage there and pay via paypal. I usually don't. If it is not Ebay, I go directly to the USPS site. Keeps my bookeeping straight. In that case, he needs to post a credit card with USPS.
Oh, ack!! Well, uhhhh... Mg says they work!
Ohhh, I see. I use the Shipping Assistant from USPS. I live in the country and have to take the boxes into town anyway. It would be nice to just slap the postage on the box and set it out! Sweeeeet! Maybe someday............

I print it with postage and take it in to mail, but I can walk in, drop it on the counter, skip the line, and leave. The one on the My Ebay is very nice cuz it fills in the buyer's info for you and the deducts the postage from your paypal..or you can just do labels.
Mrs M...Do you ever wonder if you are paying too much for postage that way? I have a very good scale, but I find if it's measuring right on the pound that the PO will charge for the next rate. So if I printed my own postage I might be underpaying. Or overpaying if I bumped it up and they didn't.

Oh !!
You can now print first class mail (and other) from PayPal! This is new... Right?
Priority mail is still free (except for the postage), but there are fees to print labels for first class mail. Delivery Confirmation is 0.13 plus a 0.20 label processing fee.

...the full report, MG! Sounds likes the labels are good quality being made available at below wholesale price! Mrs.M, you''re right about the cost being LESS than/comparable to the price of paper!
MG, another question -- how were the labels shipped? UPS or USPS?
Jabbergah
quote:Agreed! I just hope the guy isn't STEALING them from UPS & selling them on ebay! Stolen goods sold on ebay has been done before! Then we'll ALL be charged w/possession of stolen goods! Perhaps this lot of labels has been rejected by UPS for some reason.

quote:Yes, when you print the label off ebay, you may pay postage with Paypal which I've come to prefer. When you pay the postage directly off the USPS site, Paypal payment isn't an option -- credit card only.

I did notice the person has a college address, I believe.
Uggggg, I sent the shipping assistant link from my hubby's puter downstairs to my laptop....it's still not here!! Wonder where in the world it went!! I wouldn't use the paypal site to just print labels if they are charging you for it,especially when it's free from USPS. Sheesh!! (figures ....it's ebay)
Here, I just google searched it (duhhh )

...you're right about the other USPS shipping methods becoming available. I noticed that yesterday. Odd thing, the particular package I was shipping -- the difference in cost between Parcel Post & Priority Mail was only $0.10?! And that was WITHOUT confirmation! Stayed with the Priority.

Jabber...they came UPS

No, no MG!! No charge for the labels. only if you prepay for the postage...just the same as the USPS site..only difference is that on the Ebay site, you don't have to hand type the name and address of the buyer..it is prefilled!
Jabber, this has been true even at the post office for most of the things I send. However, now, with the free confirmation, it is even a better bargain!
Bigger difference with some of my stuff. Total weight is only 3 oz. (83 cents)
Since I always use delivery confirmation, Printing on line using first class is DEFINITELY cheaper!

I was referring to this. Seems like a processing fee is silly when you are doing it yourself!! heh

Yes, if it is letter class, it would be! My usual weighs 1lb. 2oz., so priority pays!
Fees don't apply for Priority Mail, it's still free to print and use the delivery confirmation. Delivery confirmation is still free, even if you don't include and pay postage with the label.
Oh my gosh!! I need more coffee, this is getting too confusing!! I better just stick with what I'm used to using. Most of my items are between 3 and 7 lbs. Adds up fast for that weight. Maybe if I order tons of labels I will get busy selling. I need you all to yell at me every day!!

Anyone:
At what point do you want a buyer to sign for package? (signature confirmation)
I was thinking $100... any thoughts?

Puppy, yes, I had fogotten that. The confirmations are free if you print from the site.
On my auction, I charge a flat 5.75 anywhere in the US, priority with confirmation. If it goes to the eastern side of the States, it cost me less, to the west, it is exact. This way, I recoupe the cost of the bubble packs along the way! I ship as soon as they pay and of course, it is daytime. They have it in a couple of days. Makes very happy customers!

No, never! Why?Because it is a waste and a pain! Half the time, they leave it anyway. They do here to me. If someone does that to me and I miss the mail, and they don't leave it, it aggravates me! I just insure it.
So I should just offer it? My items are small, but CAN be very expensive. Some 800-$1000. Most wouldn't want that sticking out of their mailbox or laying on the floor of an apartment building all day with nobody home.
UPS leaves stuff all the time with no signature, but post office has NEVER done that! They won't even let a neighbor sign for it here.

Boy, they do here! You said $100.00, that is not 1000.00! I think for something that high I would send it overnight , insured, signature! I say that because it is so small! Things at the 100.00 level, I would send , confirm, and insure. Even Fedx leaves things and I don't sign...including leaving something at a wrong address that the guy will not return!
Jabber, as to where the labels came from, I don't recall this being any of the supplies that are customer available from USPS or UPS. Perhaps they came from a closed shipping store.
Boy they REALLY stick to the rules here. Once I was sitting on the front porch when a sub mail person came by. I got up to meet her half way to get the mail. She informed me she had to put it in the mailbox and couldn't just hand it to me. (True story)
I guess they do! LOL! I am just happy here if I get my mail! I have a common names as does one of the neighbors down the way. No matter what the address says, it does whereever. We exchange mail constantly!!
Well... Things to do... See ya later.
