Jab, based on the number of bids you've gotten in less than 24 hours, you'd be crazy to end early for ANY amount! (grin)
Your note sounds great, but I didn't think you could change a description after you have bids? (says the non-seller...)
Only two things I would change about your note, and both are completely optional. One is to change "I'm inclined" to something a bit firmer, like "I'm going to". The other is to say "if you're concerned about snipe bidders, remember that it's not the LAST bid that wins, it's the HIGHEST. Bid the maximum amount you're ready to pay, and you’ll have no regrets whether you win OR lose."
That way snipers will know they're welcome, and non-snipers might start to get a clue...
As for "fear and trepidation", there's no need. You're a good writer -- my notes aren't corrections, merely the opinions of a peer.
You cannot change the description after a bid, but until the last 12 hours, I believe, he can add a footnote to his discription.
Jabber, personally, I would not touch it! Why do that..you know the saying "If it ain't broke...."...well it certainly isn't broken!! Leave the auction be!!! IMO!

I agree! Unless you're trying to forestall the emails. But I would think it would be fun to get them!
...is appreciated, Shirley & Mrs.M.
Yes, I DO need to make an addendum -- I have another paragraph that corrects a mistake in my description. I planned to include this paragraph with the correction to forestall some of the e-mail questions & traffic.
Shirley, on the "inclined", your opinion is noted, but I DO want to communicate some hedge. Yes, the auction will run its course, but maybe I WILL end early with an offer, but your better come to me with a hugundous-knock-me-dead offer! -- None of this $50-or-$100-higher-than-the-current-winning-bid stuff! That way, I hope if I get any e-mail offers, they'll be seriously BIG! Actually, I was kinda hoping 2 or 3 nuclear snipers would show up!
Regarding the sniper portion of the note, I think I like your wording better. I'll use it or an amalgamation thereof! Is there royalties on it? If so, that's why I'll be amalgamating! LOL!
Thanks for the thoughts!

"We hereby confer on you the title of Royal Amalgamator."
That's as close as I get to royalties...

Some questions:
- The member ID thingy you told me about earlier -- is there a charge for that?
- Also, in another post somewhere you mentioned that you like to pick up boats, campers, and motorhomes to sell for a profit. Do you buy offline - sell online? Buy online - sell offline? Buy & sell, online & offline?
With the experience with this guitar, I'm thinking I like the big ticket items better than the trinkets, baubles, & beads I've done up to this point! I like seeing the bids go up 10's, 50's, & 100's at a time instead of $0.50 & $1 at a time! I just need to find a regular supply of something to make a few $100 (Or $1000! ) at a time!

Yeah, let me know if you need a Michigan outlet!
Jabber, no there is no charge for the info.
I buy on and off line, Jabber, but there is a catch...it takes a little elbow grease usually. I make sure they are absolutly spotless, try to take many picture, and I work hard to lay out the description exactly right. These things will make many $ for you!
Actually, I've often had a similar idea. Why not troll for auctions that are HORRIBLY listed (Bad pictures, descriptions full of typos or scary conditions, titles that don't fit the item, etc.) and then resell the items in a friendly, high-quality listing?
Kinda like shopping garage sales for collectibles to resell in an "antique mall".

That is very close to the truth, Shirley. So many people just don't take the time to do things "right". You can't be lazy and do it.It is work!!
