[ALERT]Well, I'm not exactly cursing AS for my "ignorance", but I did think the blank space for bid amount referred to US dollars only. What a SHOCK to have been the last to get my bid in and win an item (on the cheap was my intention) only to discover (HORROR!) that AS placed the bid in "units" irrespective of currency. Thus, my cost is way above what I hoped to pay. (Shipping to Spokane from England was the final, cruel blow. Double ouch!) One GBP = $1.78 -- now I know. And to think I am quite a way up the learning curve with 120+ feedbacks. I pity the newbie who misses seeing this....

eBay works the same way. All bids are in the currency of the auction. We don't do anything different than if you had bid on the same item on eBay. Don't feel bad, this happens from time to time so you're not the only one.

Perhaps you can offer the item to the person who came in second.

Just be thankful you weren't bidding on a car or something too expensive Smile
