Hmmm - I wonder why it's got quiet here - I for one am bored at reading about 'I should have won, AS sucks' over and over. Thus I only come by a couple of times a week.

While you were 'away', I did get into a heated email discusssion with the person on the other end of the Suggestions page. My impression was that they were on a huge downer and all my ideas "wouldn't work" so I won't be clicking that link again... Roll Eyes

BTW - my suggestions included a revamp of the AS site, getting rid of the dead-wood (eg. out of date FAQs, making stuff work that doesn't, creating an Affilaites section that worked etc) so they were all pretty good (again, IMHO) so I was suprised to be shot down in flames... Frown

I did start sifting through excuses for not being present:

i.e

  • I am misunderstood (Nobody, other than you, seems to understand my jokes)
  • I am deeply offended (R2 is always rude about my jokes)
  • I am ignored (Each time I started a serious topic, they all wander off and discuss food)

Then I thought I had better be honest (for a change)

I am embarrassed

I looked down the list of topics on the front page and discovered that I had started about 50% of them in your absence.

Time to shut up!

Paul
I was holding my new grandbaby all day yesterday! It's the first one that doesn't live in another state, or country! Sorry, just couldn't spare the time!
Now, I must go dust my house. It's gotten away from me. (I hate dusting) To do a good job it takes about 2 hours! And that wouldn't be a good job in my mother's opinion. I do not crawl under the table and dust the chair legs, or every single door and window frame. I'll do that maybe once a year! I'd rather pull weeds!! heh
Aw now Paul, dont be like that. Nobody gets my jokes either, but that doesnt stop me. Cool

R2 is nasty to everyone, its part of his charm, just ignore him (seems to work for AS Support Razz)

Mg, I am particularly anal about dust and I am sure my Mother pulls out her white gloves and inspects the window sills and chair legs when I am not watching - sooooo, no dust here Smile
Hi Lexie, Rick, and Mrs. M.!

Yes, school's still running my life. Big Grin And it'll be taking up the entire weekend. Frown There are some pretty tempting jobs out there for people who already have the degree so hopefully it'll be worthwhile.

Let's see, with 11 teeth, that would mean he's right about at the age where he keeps you running, right?

Rick, it sounds like you haven't given up on the reading. The banned book list is still my personal reading list for whenever there's time.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to talk much until after May 5th. Have a great weekend everybody! Big Grin

but politics is really not an enjoyable subject for me

Sorry, but I don't think it was "politics", but family members that were under discussion!
You know you can always start another topic and we will join in!!! We want you to post, so, if you don't enjoy the subject, start one that you do! Smile
I suppose that I've really illustrated my reasons here - I regard you lot as my friends and I don't want to offend anyone.... Frown

I actually enjoyed the bits about various people's family members - I have family members in the forces too, so I know how worrying it can be, but there were some other political opinions expressed that I was itching to reply to and I knew it would just cause an argument, which wouldn't be at all appropriate in this nice, chatty sort of a place. If I want to argue there are boards I am a member of that can produce that just by saying "Hello"! Wink

BTW, I had waffles for tea yesterday - a friend bought them for me from Costco (which I think is an American shop) and they were lovely!
