Also, before Air jumps on you! Wink I don't know if a bid 10 minutes from the end of the auction could actually be considered a snipe! That would mean you would have to enter 600 (seconds) in the lead time of the AuctionSnipe screen for that item. I'm not sure if the AS software can even handle such a large lead time!

Anybody know? Is AS software capable of handling "scheduled bids" in addition to last minute snipes?

The snipe has disapeared on "My Snipes" listing. But right after the auction, the status was "Sniped Placed". I have a screen print after the auction ended that I can send if that helps.

The e-mail that I received after the auction has the following -

"status summary: Ready

Your snipe could not be placed because of the reason above"

I am really confused...

Hopefully someone will be able to let me know what happened and if this a regular problem.
Hi Imp!

Well, I'm confused too! Confused Since we both are only Junior Snipers, I guess we'll need to appeal to someone more experienced! Maybe Auction Support Sniper Goddess, Sara B.! Smile

I AM curious though -- why would you want to "snipe" 10 minutes before the end of an auction? That allows PLENTY of time for competitive bidders to manually outbid you. I would think a more reasonable lead time would be less than 30 seconds.

Snipe on!

Looks like eBay messed up. The confirmation page shows: "Unknown Error
An unknown or unspecified error has occured. "

The snipe did not "disappear." You just don't know how to use our site. Change the "Show" drop down box to either "Snipes ending today" or "Snipes I've lost" and you'll see it in your list again. You can then click the confirmation link to see eBays exact reply to your snipe there and can confirm what I've said it says.
OK! That makes more sense to me now! Smile

While I'll defer to more experienced snipers, my GUESS would be maybe there was a high traffic moment and AS didn't have enough time to get a successful bid placed. I used to use a lead time of 4 - 8 seconds and had a couple missed bids. Then I switched to 9 - 15 seconds and haven't missed a bid since! Not all of them win, but they at least get successfully presented to ebay. Wink

Snipe on!

I have been using Auction Sniper for a short time, and have never really spent a lot of time looking at your site. I have been sniping, and never had any problems. I guess I need to spend more time looking at the site - and learn what functions are there... My mistake!!!

I found the lost snipe, and see that ebay really messed up...

Thanks for your help!!!

No, we placed it, and eBay received it. I dont know why they didnt accept it. We actually had a small number of misses today on a busier than normal day.

Your snipe wasnt at a real high peak time, it shoulda been fine. This is just one of those ones where eBay wasnt working quite right. Not even that they didnt get it like many, they got this one and had some sort of error at that time.
