Hello All,
Can I send this email to a potential eBay buyer?

WARNING: I believe this seller (currycrawford, registered 1/9/04) was previously registered as "worldsbestbartender" on 11/28/03. Prior to that as "chicagoguy212003" on 8/22/03. I saw you were bidding on his "Beverly Hills 90210" auction #2988735497. On 9/16/03 I purchased his Melrose Place series. It was taped off TV with commercials. Video & sound quality were horrible. Tapes were un-watchable. I urge you to check these user names and prevoius auctions. His feedback rating as:
"chicagoguy212003" was 88.0%
"worldsbestbartender" was 83.3%
"currycrawford" is 100% However, this does not include any feedback from buyers!. I urge you to email him and ask if program was recorded from TV, if so, at what recording speed, with or without commercials and ask about the video & sound quality. If he does not respond consider a Bid Retraction. I got stuck even with all the safeguards that ebay & paypal have. (seller did refund half my $ after 4 months. Haven't heard since. GOOD LUCK!

Okay I won't send it. Although I have in the past. Hope they don't give me the boot.

To bad ebay doesn't take their own policies more seriously. When I contact them they never seem to do anything about the illegal auctions. The auctions close and the sellers make a few more dishonest dollars, as does ebay. Ebay suggests I contact the copyright holders. I feel ebay should be responsible to police their own site and not expect buyers to do it. I guess you just canot win fighting corporate greed. (sorry ebay, but that's how it looks to me)

I love eBay, although it may not sound like it today.

Boy do I know about this! Just before Christmas I purchases some Dora dvd's from a seller (jnmsales )and they were bad copies!Listed as "never viewed dvd's" so of course I thought they were new. Worst thing was dummy me sent them to my grandaughter in Belgium and they wouldn't even play on her dvd player! She's only 2 1/2, so she only knew she got crap from gramma!! I reported it to ebay , paypal and all and nothing. He's still selling and has made his feedback private so no one can read what bogus stuff they were selling.
That's another issue....what is the point of private feedback except to hide bad feedback? I should leave it , but he will proly ruin my 100% and no one will be able to read what I write anyway. ugggggg Confused
M G Intern: They could have been bad copies but more likely they were "Region 1" for US and Canada. She was most likely playing it on a Belgium DVD which is "PAL". We can't buy them in US but Euro DVD players play ALL the formats - The parent most likely can go to the menu and click on Region 1 and it might play.

Ask the parent if they have a "PAL" format player. If they do there are some great PAL format movies on E-Bay. mory

A lot of early (and some later) dvd players don't play dvd+/-R's, so it might not be a region problem. The one dvd still listed in completed auctions for this user does state what region it's encoded for.

Why eBay gives the option to make your feedbacks private is beyond me. The ONLY reason I can see for making feedbacks private is because they're not good ... I never bid when I can't see what people are saying Wink

[look! I didn't use the word *certain* once!!!!]

Mother Mary Says, 'HONESTLY! you're just ruint!'
MG Intern.....Sorry to hear of your experience Frown. Have you considered a complaint with VeRO (Verified Rights Owner Program)?I am not sure how to go about it.

I cannot understand why these people are allowed to continue selling ILLEGAL items especially after complaints have been filed against them. Mad Confused Mad In PayPals case they told me "we can't take just your word", why not? The sad part is my mentally retarded cousin asked me if this series was available so I looked on ebay and sure enough there it was. The seller had a pic of the tape showing the MP logo (yea I know, stupidly) I thought it was legit without doing any more checking. My cousin works in a sheltered workshop for about $2.00 an hr. He saved and sacrificed for this item. When it arrived he was so excited. He played one, no sound, then another, poor picture and sound quality and so on. Each time he began to look more and more disappointed. It was heart wrenching to watch helplessly. He went from a super high to a super low and cannot understand why this was allowed to happen. Neither can I. I gave my cousin back the $224.00 he paid for the auction. These sellers along with ebay and PayPal do not realize or care about how much pain and unhappiness they bring to others.

(Sorry Frown this turned into a novel)

First of all..oops... I can't remove the name, I tried but it says has to be within 30 minutes.

Mory, no, these are copies. My son is in the Air Force and was transfered to Belgium last summer. Their dvd and tv are the ones they took with them from the states. They took all their dvd's and tapes with them so I know it's not a regional probelm. I forget what the kids tell me these are called...VCD's I think they said. The discs were not even labeled! Sent to me wrapped in a paper lunch bag with tape all over it!!
