Greetings!

It's been quite some time since I've been in and I confess, I haven't kept up with the boards, but this is the first time in the last few months of Holiday (& post Holiday) shopping that I've had a problem.

I have my Active Snipes page up, my snipes are all listed there -- some of them, however, are giving me the yellow "warning" bar telling me my intended snipe is below the min. necessary to bid. This is not true! The "ready" label on the right turns red and everything, but the listing within Active Snipes still shows a "current" value below my intended bid.

So, I tried "update" -- still shows that my intended snipe is higher than the current price and what would be the minimum bid.

I even checked by logging into eBay and looking up the item. My intended snipe is still definitely higher than the current price and what would be the minimum bid.

Occasionally it's even snipes that are a couple days away, on auctions that still have NO bids on them. My "intended snipe" was a high enough dollar value to get "congratulations your snipe has been added", but (with no change to the auction itself) the value is now below the minimum necessary bid?

My chief concern here is that I will, when these auctions actually come up, lose because my snipe will not get placed. Does the system not even try to place the snipe bid, if it thinks the snipe is below the (then current) auction price?

i.e. Actual auction is at $0.99. My snipe is $5.85. My Active screen is telling me that my snipe is too low! Will it still try to place the snipe, in which case, I would win? Or will it, erroneously, refuse to attempt the snipe because it believes my intended bid is already too low?

Thanks in advance for any clearly explicated advice! (so far I've just been going in and modifying my snipes to some other value to clear the error -- but I'm sniping because I won't be online to make a final moments bid on these! I want my snipe placed!)

Thanks, Rick!

I'm taking this:

We are aware of this issue and it has only effected a VERY very slight number of customers (way less than 1%).

Right now the best strategy is to confirm that the snipe is correct on the 'my snipes' page. If it is not correct, delete it and resubmit it.

Thanks,
Bill

to mean that they've been aware of it for a couple weeks, it doesn't affect many people, so it's not being addressed? It's being addressed but the problem is so mysterious/complicated/beyond-the-laws-we-believe-to-be-governing-our-universe that it can't be fixed and noone is willing to say that?

I noticed in those (two, actually) threads that at least one actual loss was reported. I want to know if I'm going to lose based on false "bid too low!" warnings.
Hi there,

Here’s another thread:

It appears the first two statements are correct, but I think the last one isn’t. My experience with AS would suggest that there is some hair pulling going over this. Not because of the volume, but because of the duration.

Don’t have a crystal ball, and my psychic days are past their prime, but I think that unless AS responds differently, that’s not a bad assumption.

Was that loss that was reported confirmed?

If you don’t get a response on this forum from an AS employee, you might want to send that to support:
http://support.auctionsniper.com/

The fact that this forum isn’t loaded with complaints about messed up data and misplaced snipes means this is a very rare problem. The posts you see give the impression there’s a big problem, but trust me (don't you hate it when someone says that?), when there’s even a minor problem, people are posting their brains out with complaints. This level of forum complaints would suggest an even less than minor problem. And, had AS not had a forum, no one would have known anyone else was having a problem. Probably why the other sniping services don’t have a forum (there I go crystal balling).

If you hear anything about this problem outside the forum, please post.
