OK Goofbid bid look to have found some form of working solution. What's more their service is completely free!
At least they are working on it instead of just sending out copy & pasted replies to customers with no evidence that AS are doing anything at all.
'Hi all,
As you may be aware we have noticed an increase in errors due to the ‘unknown error’ status, this is occurring as eBay is requiring further information during the sniping process. The information required is manual verification which our automated system is unable to do.
As previously stated we have been working very hard on a fix for this issue which we have been able to implement, we noticed a massive increase in successful snipes going through and all seemed well. However, after monitoring the issue it has came to our attention that we do still have a (very small) handful of snipes failing due to this error.
We are continuing to work on this and test different methods in order to increase the reliability of our sniper tool. We are confident in our service and can see from the figures we have thousands of successful snipes going through daily. Please bare with us and know that we are working our socks of to bring you an amazing service!
As you can see on the Goofbid site they also struggled with the same problems Auction Sniper faced back in August with ebay account verification and captcha blocking.
