There are plenty of auctions where the seller's only willing to ship to the 48 contiguous states. This is definitely the first one I've seen that says the states have to be contagious!!

Why do some only post to 'contigious' states? That's a bit rough on those living in the other states. It's all part of the USA i'nit?
I presume in my foreign ignorance that these are Alaska and, maybe, Hawaii. Australia has a non-contiguous state, Tasmania, but it's treated like any of the others for the purpose of postage and shipping goods. (Mind you, they are considered a bit weird down there, but that isn't germane to this topic!)

It's that ground transportation to Hawaii that's a little tough.
Yeah, I was surprised when I got my first order from the Virgin Islands and found USPS Priority shipping to VI cost the same as if I was to send it next door! Only required a couple days as I recall, too! Dave, we had hurricane class 2 winds here a couple of days ago! It was over 100 mph in places!
That's right Dave. I'm surprised you've heard of it, let alone read it, though. They made quite a good movie out of it in the 60's (Aaahhhh, the Sixties......).
He was an Italian journalist who was supposed to come out and work in an Italian magazine's Aust. office but when he got there it had gone bust and he had to get work as a brickies labourer.
He'd learned a formal book English and had to cope with Australian "English" and get used to their rather strange lingo and stranger ways.
It was very funny.

"Italian journalist" Right, you triggered my memory. I specifically remember a line were he asked a cop how to get to "Kings Bloody Cross" and the cop's reaction was not exactly polite. I think that I will try the local library and see if they have a copy; wait a minute, why not just SNIPE one on ebay?

I don't know where "here" is, but a friend who lives in Baltimore was telling me of their nasty weather the past few days. I am still glad that I live in this tropical paeadise; I HATE COLD! My favorite is to tell Tom (works outdoors on the Baltimore trolley tracks) when he complains about the cold " I am standing outside under my palm tree in shorts and a t-shirt sipping a tall cool one." Nice, aren't I?
