Hi Community,

We've observed that eBay has recently added a captcha to the log-in process for account with passwords that are considered to be "weak". Since we are unable to bypass this captcha, if we are confronted with this additional security measure during the log-in process when attempting to place a given snipe on your behalf, we will be unable to do so, and the status message "Invalid UserID/Password" will be returned.

If you are concerned about being affected by this problem, we recommend updating your eBay password to something that is "strong", which generally means it contains a combination of letters and numbers as well as at least one capital letter. Once you have done so and then updated your Auction Sniper log-in information accordingly, you can rest assured that our service will be able to successfully place bids on your behalf.

Hi Rick,

Well...if one can use the "Import Wizard" or "Verify" links with a positive response, it is certainly less likely that he/she will be impacted by this issue. However, eBay appears to have only added this additional security step to a portion of their sign-in servers, so it's not a definitive indicator.

If you are concerned that your eBay password may be "weak" and therefore you may be affected this problem, I certainly recommend updating it to something stronger. After all, for security purposes, it is much better to require a strong password to access your account than a weak one.

For additional information on how to choose a secure password, and how to test the strength of your password, I recommend checking out the following links:

thanks for the responses. I do get the report :
Your account has been verified and all snipes will be properly placed.

but the watches still do not import.

so i have changed my password to a mixture of letters and numbers.

still the same?

i could try sniping a small item to see if it is working, but the "no watching thing is a worry"

My neighbor (he sent me the link for sniper) popped around and checked his account and the watches were imported. so i cant see it being related to i.e or Firefox versions.
