The bird is beautiful. 
It would be nice if there were more of them around. We have mostly hawks and eagles, and there's a Red-tailed Hawk aerie around here somewhere.

Gosh, Christmas is about here! I need to start making candy and things I can do ahead. I haven't really gotten into gear this year....maybe my gears are wearing a bit!

She's having an idenity crisis!
Maybe we can help Mrs. M. through this identity crisis. She seems to be having trouble deciding on a name. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have a list of friends I know, all written in a book,
And every year at Christmas time I go and take a look;
And that is when I realise that these names are a part
Not of the book there written in,m but deep within my heart.
For each name stands for someone who has passed my path sometime,
And in that meeting they become the ryythem and the rhyme
And while it sounds fantastic for me to make this claim,
I really feel I am composed of each and every name
And while you may not be aware of this special link,
Just meeting you has shaped my life far more than you can think:
for once you've met somebody, the years cannot erase
The memory of a pleasant word or of a frinedly face
So never think that Christmas cards are just a mere routine
Of names upon a Christmas list, forgotten in between
For when I send a Christmas card which is addressed to you,
You know you're on the list if folks that I am grateful to.
For you are part of all the folks I'm glad that I have met,
And you are one of those dear ones I'd rather not forget
So. whether I have known you for many years or few,
In some way you have had a part in shaping things I do.
And every year when Christmas comes I realise anew
The biggest gift that life can give is meeting friends like you.
So may the Christmas spirit continue to impart
It's richest blessings always to keep within your heart.
