Sometimes, you're just better off losing. Yesterday, I had put a number of items in a bidgroup with a bid of $25. I lost the first one yesterday to someone who bid $26. So, I looked at all the completed auctions for that item, and found out that $25 was actually at the high end of what that item had been going for. I changed all the bids to $16, the low end of the bidding range, and won today with a bid of $15.50 - nearly $10 less than my original bid.

Had it not been for AS, I probably would have kept bidding yesterday trying to beat the other bidder, and ended up paying much more than I did.

Great story.

That's the way I use bidgroups as well. I do a search and find the high and low end of where bids have been won by viewing completed auctions.

Then I set my bid at the low end and wait to win.

I know it wont work miracles and get me the item for near nothing, but I'm usually pretty happy saving all the frustration of bidding on item after item. And winning at the low end of what they sell for makes me feel better too.
