I bid and won a dvd set on Aug 1st and paid with paypal. The seller was new but had a 100% rating.
I paid immediately instant funds but so far have not recieved it.
I wrote the seller who said she had computer problems
and sent it on the 7th but in the meantime I've noticed that she now has an 80% approval and has become unregistered.
Should I give this some more time? How would you proceed? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is always a worry - I bought two items in the past year and found the sellers had gone unregistered after I had paid.

Much to my surprise, both sent the goods! The second only after an inordinate delay and a few reminders from me.

In future I will adopt what I am advising you here - at least you will know sooner. Apply to eBay for their full address and then look them up in the phone book. I have found that ringing people can make them behave better - it is more difficult to defraud when you have to explain your actions.

In the end if you have paid by Paypal, contact them and ask for a refund. I have only done so once and they delivered.

Thanks--I did pay with paypal and since I still didn't receive it I put in a claim. I didn't want to wait any longer
because something similar happened a year or so ago where I did not receive a book I won. Well, I got an email saying the seller was ill so I felt bad for her and didn't report it to paypal. While trying to be nice, the statute for reporting a claim passed and I was stuck with the loss.

I think its better that I should just cancel the claim if the item ever turns up.
